Sultan Dethroned By Buskirk

Level 21 : 8,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Edwin Buskirk
Edwin Buskirk

In the last hand of Level 20, Edwin Buskirk opened for 25,000 on the button and Stephanie Hubbard called from the button. Sultan Ahmed Sultan then three-bet all in for 47,000 from the button and Buskirk isolated with a four-bet, which prompted Hubbard to fold.

Edwin Buskirk: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Sultan Ahmed Sultan: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

It was a cooler and Sultan was on the wrong end of it. He was looking for some lady luck but failed to get any as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}.

Dimartino Done and Dusted

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Patrick Dimartino moved all in for 99,000 from the lojack and Stephanie Hubbard called from the cutoff. The button and blinds all folded and it was off to the races.

Patrick Dimartino: {q-}{j-}
Stephanie Hubbard: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop gave Dimartino the lead with two pair, and the {2-Clubs} turn meant all he needed to do was dodge a ten on the river to survive. Unfortunately for him, that proved easier said than done as the {10-Clubs} spiked to give Hubbard a full boat.

Dimartino exited in 53rd place for $$2,604.

Vereschagin was looking for a high five but the dealer left him hanging as the board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Monster Pot Diffused

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The preflop action escaped us but we do know that three players each committed 140,000 to see a flop of {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}.

William Corvino checked from the small blind and the player in the lojack did the same. Frank Loffreno, who was in the hijack, then slid out two towers for a bet of 200,000.

Corvino responded by check-raising all in for 500,000 more, the lojack folded, and Loffreno hit the tank for a couple of minutes before folding.

"Nice hand," he offered.

"Thanks," came Corvino's simple reply.
