Laieta Wins Massive Pot, Takes Chip Lead

GeoffFisk • Level 32: 100,000-200,000, 200,000 ante

Christopher Laieta opened to 500,000 from the cutoff, Dan Sweeney three-bet to 1,700,000 from the small blind, Laieta four-bet to 4,500,000, and Sweeney made the call.

Sweeney checked the {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, and Laieta checked back.

Sweeney bet 3,550,000 on the {k-Clubs} turn, and Laieta made the call.

Sweeney checked the {9-Spades} river, and Laieta went all in, committing his last 8,600,000 to the pot. Sweeney, with 12,000,000 left, went deep into the tank, eventually electing to fold.

Laieta showed the {2-Clubs} as he collected the 16-million chip pot, which now puts him in the chip lead.
