A big month of February continues from Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, as the second of three major tournaments begins today.
The Parx Big Stax 500 kicks off today, with Day 1a beginning at 11 a.m. Players will start with 40,000 for this $500+40 buy-in tournament, with unlimited reentry and late registration available all the way up until the beginning of Level 16, which is the second level of play on Day 2 (scheduled for Sunday, February 16).
Day 1a is the first of three Day 1 flights. The survivors of Day 1a, 1b and 1c will return as a combined field for Day 2 Sunday, with the tournament playing down to a winner on Monday's Day 3.
The field will play through 14 45-minute levels today, starting with blinds at 100/100. The blinds will be up to 1500/3000/3000 by Level 14, the final level of play for Day 1.
Players will take 15-minute breaks after every third level, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 9.
The February 2019 edition of the Big Stax 500 drew 1,540 entries, for a total prize pool of $731,500.

Another big week of tournament poker at Parx Casino is underway, and players are starting to show up and get settled in for the first Day 1 flight of the Parx Big Stax 500.
The Parx Big Stax XXXII series is in full swing, with the Big Stax 300 finishing up earlier this week. The Big Stax 500 runs today through Monday, with a $500+40 buy-in.
The month-long series finishes up with the Big Stax 1100, an $1,100+100 tournament that begins February 21.
With the flop showing , the under-the-gun player checked to Ryan Messick, who bet 1,200 from the hijack.
The under-the-gun player put in the check-raise to 3,000, and Messick thought it over for a few moments before three-betting to 8,000.
Messick's opponent tanked brifely, then folded.

In what appeared to be a three-bet pot preflop, both Tom Leszczynski, in the small blind, and his opponent on the button put 2,400 in the pot on a flop.
Leszczynski bet 6,200 on the turn, and got a fold from his opponent.
