Duhamel Raises Young Off River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 5,900 chips in the middle, Jordan Young fired 3,750 on the board of {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Jonathan Duhamel thought for a bit and then raised to 9,450. Young went into the tank for a minute or two before folding his hand. Duhamel picked up the pot and increased to 87,000 in chips. Young was knocked back to 52,300.

The board read {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and it appeared that Zach Gruneberg check-raised all in against an opponent for 12,425. After a few moments his opponent called {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, up against Gruneberg's {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} to give Gruneberg the lead. The river fell the {3-Clubs} and Gruneberg found a timely double up to about 27,000.

ElkY Makes Two Pair On Bergeron

On the flop of {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier fired 1,550. Craig Bergeron raised to 4,200 and Grospellier made the call.

The turn card added the {J-Hearts} to the board and both players checked to see the {3-Diamonds} fall on the river. Grospellier fired 8,800 and Bergeron went into the tank. He eventually called and Grospellier tabled the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a turned two pair. Bergeron mucked his hand and wasn't happy about it, dropping back to 31,000 in chips. Grospellier increased to 79,000.

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Erik Seidel fired out 1,500. Sam Iola raised to 3,600. That knocked Phil Collins and Dan Heimiller out of the way, but Seidel made the call.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and Seidel checked. After a minute, Iola fired 7,200. Seidel called.

The river completed the board with the {A-Diamonds} and Seidel checked. Iola fired 20,075. Seidel came back with a raise all in and Iola quickly called.

All the excitement was thrown aside when both players turned up the {A-}{10-} for the nut full house and chopped up the pot.

Levy Climbing

On the flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}, Clint Coffee checked and Clayton Maguire was next up. He fired 2,625 and Steven Levy called. The others in the hand folded back to Coffee and he made the call.

The turn card was the {2-Hearts} and all three remaining players checked around. The {K-Hearts} was the river card and again, all three players checked.

Levy opened up the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and won the pot, moving his stack to 98,000.

Buchanan Plays It Safe

With the board reading {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Alex Timman bet 1,550 and was raised to 4,900 by Shawn Buchanan. A third player in the hand got out of the way and Timman called.

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} and both players opted to check, delivering the {10-Hearts} on the river. Timman swiftly bet 6,000 and Buchanan called immediately. Timman showed {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for trips, but Buchanan tabled {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full house to win the pot.
