Roy Climbing

The board read {4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Jonathan Roy led out for 12,300. His lone opponent, Magnus Sellen, pushed out a raise to 23,500. Sellen, seated to the direct left of Roy, proceeded to turn and stare Roy down as he made a decision.

Sellen's eyes never broke contact with Roy's face as Roy cut out enough chips to make a call. A sullen Sellen showed {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} for the second best hand behind Roy's {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for kings and fours.

By dragging this pot Roy has built his stack up to 520,000.

Tremzin Eliminates Richard

Paul Richard got his stack of around 40,000 all in preflop holding {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and at risk against the {A-Clubs}{7-Spades} of Gleb Tremzin. Although Richard was behind, he held to live cards. Unfortunately for him, he saw neither of them as the board ran out a dry {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}. With that, Richard exited the tournament shy of a payday while Tremzin chipped up to 340,000 and should be able to coast into the money.

Altman Runs Jacks Into Kings

We're not sure of the preflop action, but we do know Brian Altman found himself all in for roughly 55,000 holding {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and in bad shape against the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} of Day 1b chip leader Ashton Griffin.

The TV cameras swarmed the table to catch the action, which played out just like everyone expected as Griffin's kings held on a {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board. "Good game, guys," Altman said before taking his leave.

No Cash for Newey

Paul Newey was all in for his last 28,000 or so with {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, which was racing against the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} of Mor Ben David. The {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop gave Newey a straight draw, and the {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave him outs to counterfeit David's pair, but the {5-Clubs} bricked on the river.

Newey, who participated in the $1 Million Big One for One Drop this summer, was eliminated.

Sabat Busts Guy

Eddy Sabat
Eddy Sabat

Eddy Sabat and Guy Cruickshanks got all the money in preflop after the two raised back and forth. Sabat tabled the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and was ahead of the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for Cruickshanks.

The flop, turn and river ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Cruickshanks was eliminated. Sabat climbed to 580,000 in chips.

Sabat began Day 3 with 410,200 in chips, so he's already made some nice progress as the field works its way towards the money. He always seems to perform very well at the PCA, finishing 140th in 2009 for $12,500, 30th in 2011 for $66,000 and 40th in 2012 for $41,000. We'll see if he can top those performances this year, but needless to say, Sabat knows what it takes to run deep in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.

Schwartz Mucks

We found Noah Schwartz facing a bet of 32,000 from John Gordon on a board of {J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. This was a bet for roughly half of Schwartz's remaining stack and he sat contemplating action for a while.

Schwartz stacked and unstacked chips while talking out the hand to himself under his breath. He finally cut out calling chips and pushed them past the betting line.

Gordon rolled up {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for sixes full of deuces and Schwartz mucked his cards. Schwartz is now left with just around ten big blinds while Gordon's stack is sitting around 155,000.
