Rheem Can't Bluff Morgensztern

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

Brazil's Gil Morgensztern opened to 600, and Chino Rheem reraised to 1,750. Morgensztern called to take the flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Morgensztern checked, Rheem bet 2,000, and Morgensztern check-raised to 4,500. Rheem called.

The turn was the {J-Spades}, and Morgensztern bet 7,500. Rheem called.

The river was the {K-Clubs}, and Morgensztern checked. Rheem bet 20,000, and Morgensztern tank-called. Rheem showed the {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}, but Morgensztern showed the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the winning hand.

Breaking Records!

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

Last year the $25,000 High Roller event at the PCA drew a crowd of 161 unique players and a total of 43 re-entries. This year, with still a full day of late registration remaining there are already 162 players!

The total amount of entries last year added up to 204 and Vanessa Selbst walked away with the $1,424,420 first place prize. With the current number already exceeding last year's unique players there's a good chance the first prize will eclipse the $1.5 million mark.

Loosli Takes One

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ole Schemion fied a bet of 4,200 on the {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. Sylvain Loosli called behind, and then the third player in the hand called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs}, and all three players checked to see the {2-Spades} land on the river. After Schemion checked, Loosli bet 7,500. The next player folded, as did Schemion, and Loosli scooped the pot.

Higgins' Bluff Fails

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ole Schemion earlier this week

The board read {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} when we arrived on the scene. Ole Schemion was facing a shove by Simon Higgins who had put him all in for his tournament life.

Schemion went into the tank for quite a while but eventually he called for a total of 27,150. Higgins showed {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and that was nog enough versus Schemion's {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. The German pro doubled up and Higgins drops down to below half the average stack.
