Pratyush Buddiga Explains The Brown Power Rankings

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

High stakes pro Pratyush Buddiga created the much discussed Brown Power Rankings in 2013, and today he explains what they are all about. Buddiga himself took a late surge onto his own rankings in December, but big results by Mukul Pahuja and Moshin Charania put him in third place for now.

Jaka's River Bet Fails

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We arrived to find Faraz Jaka and Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari heads up in a hand where the completed board read {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}. With about 100,000 already in the middle, Jaka fired out a river bet of 65,000.

Akkari was in the tank for some time before he ultimately opted to drop forward calling chips. As soon as Akkari's chip hit the felt, Jaka shot his cards into the muck. Akkari won the pot without having to show and has increased his stack to about 460,000. Jaka, on the other hand, has dropped to 220,000.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Bedell checked to Volpe who bet 8,100. Bedell check-raised to 20,500 and Volpe would click it back to 33,100. Bedell took his entire stack and moved it into the middle of the table and Volpe snap-folded.

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Kyle Frey
Kyle Frey

A middle positioned player opened to 5,100 and Robert Tepper flatted out of the small blind. Kyle Frey three-bet all in from the big blind for 19,900 and the original raiser folded. Tepper instantly called and the hands were turned up.

Tepper: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Frey: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, keeping Tepper's jacks in the lead. Frey picked up outs to make a heart flush after the {2-Hearts} came on the turn, but ultimately nothing materialized with the {K-Diamonds} that completed the board. Frey took his leave and Tepper brought his stack up to 180,000.
