Four-Betting at Table 7

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Table 7 is a tough table at the corner of the tournament area with Bryn Kenney, Jonathan Little, Garrett Greer, and Daniel Negreanu among the players battling it out for each others chips. On back-to-back hands we saw four-bet pots with the aggressor taking it down each time.

First, it was Govert Metaal opening things for a raise to 10,000 and four-betting to 49,000 after Jimmy Zhou three-bet to 25,500. Zhou folded to give Metaal the pot.

The very next hand saw Greer open for 10,000, Little three-bet to 22,000, and Zvi Stern four-bet to 45,000. Greer folded but Little made the call. The flop came {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Little would check-fold to Stern's bet of 65,000.

Elias Shoves River On Trickett

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, Sam Trickett checked, and then Darren Elias bet 18,000. The third player in the hand folded, and then Trickett made the call to see the {3-Clubs} added on the turn. Trickett led with a bet of 18,000, and Elias called.

On the river, the dealer put out the {A-Clubs}. Trickett led again, this time for 42,000, but he was met with a reraise all in from Elias. Trickett had 183,500 behind and went deep into the tank. Eventually, he gave it up, and Elias was awarded the pot to move to 600,000 in chips.

Gregg Falls to Zhou

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jimmy Zhou
Jimmy Zhou

Tony Gregg moved all in from early position for what looked to be around 70,000. Jimmy Zhou moved all in over the top from the next seat and the rest of the table folded.

Gregg tabled {K-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and was up against the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} of Zhou. Gregg's lead quickly disappeared after the dealer fanned a flop of {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Gregg failed to catch up with the {J-Diamonds} on the turn or the {3-Diamonds} on the river and he was eliminated from play. Zhou pulled the pot and brought his stack to about 165,000.

Savard Doubles Through Heimiller

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We didn't catch the amount of the bets but Dan Heimiller opened from the button, Jean-Pascal Savard three-bet from the small blind, and Heimiller moved all in having Savard well covered. Savard snap-called and with good reason as he had {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Heimiller held {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Savard would double up to 510,000 when the board ran out {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Heimiller ended the hand with 270,000.

Greer Doubles Through Metaal

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Garrett Greer
Garrett Greer

Garrett Greer raised to 10,000 from early position and Govert Metaal flatted from the next seat over. Action folded around to Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu in the small blind and he cut out a three-bet to 37,000. Greer thought for about a minute before four-betting all in for 140,000. Metaal moved all in over the top of that and Negreanu folded what he said was ace-queen.

Greer: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Metaal: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The board fell down {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, pairing Greer's ace and giving him the double. Greer now has about 360,000 in chips while Metaal has dropped to 160,000.

Zhou Doubles Through Gregg

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

It was folded to Tony Gregg in the small blind who moved all in to apply pressure to Jimmy Zhou in the small blind who was down to a little more than 40,000. Zhou looked at his cards and made the call with {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Gregg turned over {Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

The flop paired both players with Zhou hitting the bigger pair on the {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river was the {K-Clubs} and Zhou doubled to 94,000 while Gregg moved into short stack territory with 47,500 in chips.
