Jaka's River Bet Fails

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We arrived to find Faraz Jaka and Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari heads up in a hand where the completed board read {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}. With about 100,000 already in the middle, Jaka fired out a river bet of 65,000.

Akkari was in the tank for some time before he ultimately opted to drop forward calling chips. As soon as Akkari's chip hit the felt, Jaka shot his cards into the muck. Akkari won the pot without having to show and has increased his stack to about 460,000. Jaka, on the other hand, has dropped to 220,000.

Pratyush Buddiga Explains The Brown Power Rankings

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

High stakes pro Pratyush Buddiga created the much discussed Brown Power Rankings in 2013, and today he explains what they are all about. Buddiga himself took a late surge onto his own rankings in December, but big results by Mukul Pahuja and Moshin Charania put him in third place for now.

Stern Doubles Through Failla

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Will Failla raised to 6,000 from middle position and Zvi Stern three-bet all in for 21,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and Failla tossed out a call.

Failla: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}
Stern: {A-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, giving both players a pair of aces. Stern still led with his queen kicker, but that all changed when Failla made two pair with the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Stern needed help to stay alive on the river and he received exactly that with the {J-Spades}. His aces and jacks with a queen kicker secured him the double and he lived to fight another day. He now has about 55,000 while Failla has dropped to 238,000.
