Chadha Not Rewarded For His Good Call

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Carlos Chadha
Carlos Chadha

Felipe Ramos opened the action in late position to 22,000 and was reraised by Carlos Chadha to 48,000. Ramos played with his chips, putting them in various stacks, before making the call.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Chadha led out for 26,000. Ramos again went to messing with his stack before quietly saying "I'm all in" and then placing his chips into the middle. Chadha counted out his stack and looked as if he was trying to figure out the odds while mumbling numbers under his breath. He leaned back and said to no one in particular "flopped a draw."

Then Chadha went through several hand possibilities, again talking out loud. "Jack ten? Queen ten? King ten? Maybe random Ace queen?" Finally convincing himself, he made the call.

"I'm right," said Chadha as he saw Ramos had {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Pleased with himself as he tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, he turned to Ramos and said "been fun playing with you" and then the two bumped fists.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} to move Ramos into the lead. "There it is," said a dejected Chadha. "One time please," he begged, as the dealer started to put out the river card.

It was the {3-Hearts} and that would be the end of Chadha's tournament. "Good game guys," Chadha said politely.

"Good call," responded Ramos.

"Thanks, good luck guys," said Chadha, as he went to collect his winnings.

Srinivasan Doubles Through Hochman

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We got to the table with approximately 85,000 in the middle with four players having seen the flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Corey Hochman bet 35,000 and the player left to act after him folded. Shyam Srinivasan moved all in for 161,000 total. Maurice Hawkins folded and the decision was back on Hochman.

He leaned back, hands on his head, and then shifted forward in his seat, counting out how many chips he would have left if he made the call. He did just that and turned over {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} which was well behind the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} Srinivasan held. The turn and river would be the {J-Spades} and {10-Spades} and Srivinisan would double up to 410,000 and leave Hochman with just 150,000.

Here he is, Mr Blatter!

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

But having enjoyed a remarkable run at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, Ronaldo is still in the Bahamas, sticking it to Sepp Blatter from afar. PokerStars Blog railed Ronaldo with his friend, coach and countryman, Andre Akkari.

Srinivasan Doesn't Believe Hawkins

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Shyam Srinivasan
Shyam Srinivasan

We got to the table with approximately 60,000 in the pot and the board reading {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. It was checked over to Maurice Hawkins who bet 36,000. Shyam Srinivasan called and the two would see the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked and on the river {8-Spades}, Srinivisan would lead out for 110,000.

"How much do you have left?" asked Hawkins.

"230," said a confident Srinivsan.

"What are the blinds?" Hawkins said in the direction of the dealer who responded "6, 12."

"Check, call, check, check, 110." Hawkins grumbled under his breath.

"You played this hand real good. Real good. I'm hoping you have something like kings, queens, or jacks. I can beat those," said Hawkins as he put out the call and turned over {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Srinivasan turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a turned set that became a full house on the river.

"Oh my God," said Hawkins. "Didn't believe me when I bet the flop?"

Srinivasan shrugged. "Can't just fold."

A clearly frustrated Hawkins fired back. "Trying to give me chips. Playing solid all day."

Srinivisan retorted "four five off is solid?"

"That's poker," answered Hawkins.

"True," said Srinivisan as he started to stack his newly acquired chips.
