Small One for Hawkins

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Carter Swidler defended his big blind from a cutoff open from Maurice Hawkins, and he check-called 30,000 on the {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked the {8-Spades} turn, and Swidler bet about 50,000 on the {9-Clubs} river. Hawkins called, and his {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} was good.

Srinivasan Goes to Value Town

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

With 100,000 in the pot and a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Uwe Ritter led out for 38,000 and would get called by Shyam Srinivasan. Both players would check the {10-Diamonds} turn and Ritter would check when the {J-Spades} was dealt on the river.

Srinivasan put out a bet of 110,000 and Ritter would make the call. He would immediately muck his hand after seeing that Srinivasan had {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for a queen high straight.

Pastor Keeping Up the Pace

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The Argentinian is more of a cash game player than a tourney guy, and more likely to be found online than at live events, although he has collected several cashes and a Main Event final table finish on the Latin American Poker Tour over the last couple of years. When Pastor achieved Supernova Elite on the next-to-last day of 2014, he invited friends to share in the celebration. See the raucous video and learn a little more about the rising star at the PokerStars Blog.

Schwartz Doubles Through Etcheverry

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Noah Schwartz (Day 3)
Noah Schwartz (Day 3)

Juan Etcheverry opened for 35,000 and Noah Schwartz moved all in for 336,000 total. Etcheverry made the call and the two players revealed their hands:

Schwartz: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Etcheverry: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The first card in the window on the flop was the {9-Clubs} and a look of disdain came over Schwartz's face. That look would vanish quickly though as the dealer spread out a flop of {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Etcheverry chewed on his apple as if it was no big deal and would pay off Schwartz after the turn and river came {4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Schwartz moved to 725,000 with that double up.
