Mercier Ships

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

The board read {6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} when we found Jason Mercier and David Peters engaged in the hand. Mercier checked the turn and Peters cut out a bet of 31,600. Mercier thought for a moment before announcing a raise over the top for 96,000 total. This move sent Peters deep into the tank.

After a bit of thinking, Peters reached into his stack and moved out a call. The {10-Spades} hit the felt on the river and Mercier moved all in for his last 209,800. Peters thought for roughly two minutes before kicking his cards into the muck. Mercier won the pot and now sits on about 475,000.

Seiver Hits 400K

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

With the board reading {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Scott Seiver bet 16,000. Jake Schindler made the call, and then Andrew Robl folded to get out of the way. The river was the {3-Spades}, and Seiver bet 41,000. Schindler put in a raise to 151,000, and Seiver took a few moments before he made the call. Schindler tabled the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a flush, but Seiver's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} provided the better flush, and he won the pot.

Seiver, who won the 2013 version of this event, increased his stack to 400,000 in chips. Schindler, who took down last year's $25,000 High Roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, dropped back to 305,000 in chips.
