Kanit vs. Bonomo

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With around 75,000 in the pot and a board reading {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, Mustapha Kanit bet 31,000 from the small blind and Justin Bonomo called from the button. Both players checked the {Q-Hearts} river and Kanit showed ace high with the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Bonomo then revealed the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of tens and the win.

Perkins Back in the Danger Zone

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Bill Perkins raised from the cutoff — how much we're not sure — and then called when Daniel Dvoress three-bet to 21,000 from the big blind. Both players checked the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop as well as the {5-Diamonds} turn, and then Dvoress moved all in on the {8-Hearts} river. Perkins, who only had 68,000 behind, quickly folded.

Aces Versus Kings in the Never Ending Hand

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Vogelsang vs Kaverman
Vogelsang vs Kaverman

As Level 4 wound down, a big hand took place between online star Christoph "Tight-Man1" Vogelsang and GPI Player of the Year Byron Kaverman, one that lasted an awful long time.

It began when Vogelsang raised to 5,200 from the hijack and Kaverman took his time before three-betting to 13,500 from the cutoff. The button and both blinds all folded, Vogelsang thought for nearly two minutes before four-betting to 38,500, and Kaverman thought for an equal amount of time before making the call.

The {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop saw Vogelsang think for awhile before betting 28,000, and Kaverman tank-called. The time taken for each decision would continue to increase on subsequent streets. For instance, both players checked the {8-Hearts} turn, but not before taking 90 seconds to do so.

When the {3-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Vogelsang waited nearly two minutes before checking, and Kaverman waited the same before betting 107,000. Vogelsang then paused for a minute or two before stacking all but one of his chips — a single T100 chip capping his cards — and slid them in for an all-in check-raise to 130,400.

The dealer then instructed him to put in the remaining 100, which brought the total up to 130,500. Kaverman thought for a minute before making the call, and Vogelsang tabled the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Kaverman shook his head and showed the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} before watching the pot pushed to his opponent.

Alvarado & Baron Exit; Negreanu Enters

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Isaac Baron - eliminated
Isaac Baron - eliminated

Isaac Baron busted in unknown action just before the break, and JC Alvarado followed him out the door straight away in Level 5.

It happened when Cary Katz opened for 5,100, Paul Newey called, and Antonio Esfandiari popped it to 17,000. Alvarado moved in for his last 28,000, Katz made it 80,000, and both Newey and Esfandiari got out of the way.

Katz: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Alvarado: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Alvarado was behind and need of a jack, but it didn't come as the board ran out a useless {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Meanwhile, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu jumped into action at the start of Level 5.

Esfandiari Picks Off Adams' Bluff with Ace High

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Antonio Esfandiari bet 7,300 on the {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} board into his opponent, Timothy Adams. Adams called, and the river was the {6-Spades} to pair the board on the end. Esfandiari checked, and Adams bet 20,500. Esfandiari mulled it over long and hard before he tossed in one green T25,000 chips to make the call.

Adams tabled the {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for jack high. Esfandiari turned up the winner with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for ace high.

Perkins Busts Again

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Bill Perkins
Bill Perkins

After Isaac Haxton check-called a bet on the turn of a board reading {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} from Bill Perkins, the dealer finished off the board with the {A-Diamonds}. Haxton bet enough to put Perkins all in, and Perkins made the call.

Haxton tabled the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a turned queen-high straight. Perkins went to muck, but because it was an all-in showdown, his {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} was turned over. With that, he was eliminated for a second time, and Haxton improved to 355,000 in chips.
