Kamran Takes it Down on the River

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Michael Kamran has been on the upswing today. On this hand he was heads up against Steve O'Dwyer.

Kamran raised preflop and O'Dwyer called from the small blind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and O'Dwyer checked. Kamran bet 4,000. O'Dwyer check-raised to 13,500 and Kamran called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and O'Dwyer led this time for 18,000. Kamran called and the two players saw the {5-Diamonds} hit the river.

O'Dwyer thought for a moment, then checked. Kamran took about thirty seconds before betting 33,000. O'Dwyer folded and Kamran took down the pot.

Kamran Busts Andrejevic

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Michael Kamran busted Andy Andrejevic on what was possibly the loudest hand of the PCA.

A player opened with a raise Kamran called and Andrejevic went all in for his last 20,000. Kamran was the lone caller.

Kamran had pocket twos, {2-}{2-}, against the pocket aces of Andrejevic. When a two hit the river, the table erupted as Kamran was video taping the whole thing, apparently assuming he was going to win despite being a huge underdog.

Ryan Riess Eliminated

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After Andre Akkari raised to 4,500 from the hijack seat, Ryan Riess reraised out of the cutoff seat to 10,400. Play then folded to Kenneth Smaron in the big blind, and he moved all in. Akkari folded, but Riess called with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Smaron had the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

The {Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Smaron the lead, and the {J-Spades} on the turn and {5-Clubs} on the river finished off the board. With that, Riess was eliminated, and Smaron climbed to 145,000 in chips.
