Boyuan Qu
Boyuan Qu

Boyuan Qu was among the chip leaders at the end of Day 1a. Today he has added to his stack and is healthy going into the final hour of play tonight.

In one recent hand, the board was {5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Qu's opponent shoved all in. Qu reshoved and isolated his opponent. Qu showed {k-}{3-} for a wheel and his opponent had two pair with {a-}{2-}. The river was no help and Qu won the hand.

Vogelsang Finished

Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang was first to act in a blind battle and checked a board of {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. His opponent bet 16,200, and Vogelsang thought a couple of minutes and pushed all in for what looked like 60,000. His opponent called.

Vogelsang: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Vogelsang needed help on the river against the aces, but the {7-Clubs} didn't do it.

The Essential Isenthal

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Frank Isenthal took a mid-sized pot off WSOP bracelet winner Ben Zamani after Zamani raised under the gun.

Zamani made it 4,500 preflop and Isenthal raised to 11,000 from the button. Zamani called.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Zamani checked to Isenthal. Isenthal bet 16,000, which was enough to take the pot.

Clements' Day is Done

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We saw Scott Clements walking in the hallway and he was kind enough to confirm that he had just been eliminated.

According to him, he lost a big pot and then shoved his last 14.5 big blinds all in with {9-}{9-}. Brandon Crawford called with {k-}{q-}, and then the player in the big blind moved all in over the top with {q-}{q-}. The queens held and that was all she wrote for Clements in the 2016 PCA Main Event.

Paur Snap-Shoves Over a Five-Bet

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Taylor Paur opened for 4,000 early, and a player on the button three-bet to 11,100. Paur made it 27,600 to go, and after a couple of minutes, his opponent slid in 41,000. That was an insufficient raise and the player was forced to put in 44,100. Paur immediately announced all in after the pot was corrected, and his opponent thought a couple of minutes and folded.

More For Melianiuk

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Siarhei Melianiuk just busted a player and added more chips to his stack.

A player opened preflop for 4,500 and Jason Koon called from the button. The player in the small blind raised to 11,000 and the action fell to Melianuk in the big blind. He shoved all in. The remaining players folded until the action came back around to the 11,000 raise. He called and was eliminated by the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Melianiuk when the board ran out {8-}{2-}{2-}{9-}{10-}.

Esfandiari DQ'd

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Although it looks as though Antonio Esfandiari will go on to win the lunging prop bet that he made with Bill Perkins (he has until midnight tonight), the money he earned from it will be less the $5,300 buy-in of the PCA Main Event. Due to a "breach of etiquette" at the table, Esfandiari was disqualified from the event.

Late on Day 2, Esfandiari said he admitted to urinating while in the tournament in a container undercover. He said that all of the lunging made it extremely painful to move, but believed he took things too far and that it was a lack of judgement on his behalf.

At the time of the disqualification, Esfandiari had about 100,000 in chips.

After leaving the tournament, Esfandiari spoke to PokerNews about his actions:
