Haxton Doubles Through Zhang Before Break

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton opened with a raise to 10,000 and he was called by Yang Zhang in the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Zhang checked to Haxton. Haxton bet 13,000. Zhang decided to raise, making it 33,000. Haxton called.

On the {A-Spades} turn, Zhang shoved and Haxton snap-called.

Zhang: {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Haxton: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Zhang had a flush draw, but Haxton had an overpair and a blocker to Zhang's flush. The river was the {6-Clubs} which was a blank for Zhang and that earned the double up for Haxton with his pair of jacks

Almedin Imsirovic Busts Ben Yu; Byron Kaverman Jumps Back In

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Ben Yu moved all in for right around 55,000 on the button and Almedin Imsirovic called from the big blind.

Imsirovic: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Yu: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

Yu was in a bad spot, but the {5-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop was kind in that it gave him a flush draw. The {2-Clubs} turn gave Yu an added straight draw, but he missed when the {6-Hearts} bricked on the river.

Meanwhile, Byron Kaverman has re-entered the tournament.

Kaverman Busted by Imsirovic

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Byron Kaverman opened with a raise to 11,000 from middle position before Aldemin Imsirovic reraised, making it 28,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Kaverman who shoved all in and Imsirovic snap-called.

Kaverman: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Imsirovic: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and that was it for Kaverman. Imsirovic's ace-high held up as the best hand and Kaverman was eliminated to the tournament. He headed to the registration desk to re-enter the tournament.

Haxton Can't Call

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Stefan Schillhabel opened under the gun for 9,000 and big blind Isaac Haxton called. Haxton check-called a bet of 7,500 on {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} before leading for 9,500 on the {6-Clubs} turn. Schillhabel raised to 28,500 and Haxton used a time bank card before he called.

With about 54,000 behind, Haxton checked on the {2-Clubs} river that paired the board. Schillhabel shoved for 60,000 and Haxton went into the tank again, using one more time bank card before he eventually folded.

Imsirovic Clips Tollerene

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ben Tollerene opened with a raise to 8,000 from early position. Action folded around where the small blind called as did Almedin Imsirovic in the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Imsirovic who bet 9,000. Tollerene called while the small blind folded.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} leading to a check from both players. On the {5-Hearts} river, Imsirovic lead out with a bet of 15,000. Tollerene contemplated for a bit then called, but mucked when Imsirovic showed {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of tens.

Hajiyev Busts Haxton

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ramin Hajiyev opened with a raise to 9,000 before Isaac Haxton moved all in from the small blind for just over 100,000. Hajiyev asked for a rough count, then called.

Haxton: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Hajiyev: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs} which left Haxton drawing dead on the turn.

"And I hit the ace!" Haxton said. IT didn't matter though, Hajiyev took down the pot with his full house and moved over 300,000 chips.

Seidel's King is No Good

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Erik Seidel opened from the hijack seat with a raise to 6,500. Mikalai Vaskaboinikau called from the button and Yang Zhang called from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Zhang checked to Seidel. Seidel put out a bet of 10,000. Vaskaboinikau folded but Zhang called.

Seidel and Zhang then checked down on the {Q-Hearts} turn and the {9-Hearts} river. Seidel showed {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} but it was no good because Zhang was holding {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}, for a king with a better kicker, and he took down the pot. Despite that, Seidel has chipped up a bit already and has already moved over the starting stack.
