Kurganov Vaults Into the Chip Lead

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

While we didn't catch the entirety of the action, Igor Kurganov was holding {A-}{K-} against Stephen Chidwick's {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Both players had made trip aces, but Kurganov's was better with the better kicker. That sent Chidwick to the registration desk to re-enter, while Kurgaov moved into the chip lead after collecting the big pot.

Kurganov's Aces Hold Up

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

From early position, Igor Kurganov raised to 4,500. Sean Perry called in the next seat over and Cary Katz called form the cutoff.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and action checked to Perry who put out a bet of 6,500. Kurganov was the only caller.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Kurganov checked again. Perry put out a bet of 16,000 which Kurganov called.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. Kurganov showed down his {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and it was good enough to earn him the pot as Perry mucked.

Troyanovskiy Gets Richer

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Vladimir Troyanovskiy opened under the gun for 5,000 and got called in three spots; Ramin Hajiyev on the button, the player in the small blind with no media id, and Igor Yaroshevskyy in the big blind.

The blinds checked to Troyanovskiy on {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and he bet 10,000. Hajiyev folded, the small blind pushed all in for about half starting stack, Yaroshevskyy folded, Troyanovskiy instantly called.

Troyanovskiy showed {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} while his opponent had {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. After the {A-Spades} on the turn, the small blind was drawing dead. The {9-Diamonds} on the river was there just to make things official.
