Stashin Back on Track; Tim Volf Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

It's been a roller coaster of a day for Michael Stashin who at one point was pushing close to 1 million chips. After losing nearly half his stack, Stashin is finally back on track after eliminating Tim Volf.

In the hand, Stashin opened with a raise to 12,000 before Volf moved all in for 104,500. Action folded back to Stashin who dropped into the tank.

"Hold on," Stashin said standing up from his chair. "Let me do some math."

"Twenty-six bigs?" Stashin continued. "I don't think I can fold."

"Actually it's twenty-one bigs," Volf said.

"Oh well," Stashin said. "I guess I did my math wrong"

Stashin eventually decided to call and their hands were turned up.

Stashin: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Volf: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} which kept Stashin in the lead the whole way and allowed him to take down the pot to move back over 700,000 chips while Volf was eliminated from the tournament.

Sick Run Out Sends Daniel Carlsson to the Rail

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After an under-the-gun open to 12,000 and a three-bet to 30,000 by Bartosz Stasiewicz, Daniel Carlsson four-bet all in for 137,500 from the small blind. The original raiser folded and Stasiewicz called.

Stasiewicz: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Carlsson: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The only way for one of them to lose was for the board to four flush, and the {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop kept that possibility open for Stasiewicz. The {3-Diamonds} turn made it a legitimate threat, and much to the dismay of Carlsson, the {2-Diamonds} spiked on the river!

Stasiewicz went runner-runner to make a flush and Carlsson was sent out the door in brutal fashion.
