Stashin and Weis Continue to Dance

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} Oliver Weis checked over to Michael Stashin who put out a bet of 18,000. Weis called so the two headed to a turn.

The turn was the {A-Clubs} and this time both players slowed down and checked. On the {4-Spades} river, Weis led out for 26,000. Stashin dropped back in his chair and took off his glasses upon seeing the bet.

"Did you spike the ace?" he asked. Weis did not respond. Stashin thought for a few more seconds, then called.

Weis showed {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} but it was no good as Stashin was holding {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

"Were you betting for value or as a bluff?" Stashin asked after the hand.

"Value of course," Weis said. Stashin collected the pot and recovered some of his chips while Weis continued to fall down the counts.

Maximilian Gruenberger Saved on the River

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Karl Stark raised to 11,000 from the cutoff only to have Maximilian Gruenberger three-bet all in for right around 50,000 from the big blind. Stark made the call and the hands were turned up.

Stark: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Gruenberger: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Gruenberger got it in good, but he fell behind when the {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop paired Stark. The {3-Diamonds} turn was of no consequence, but the {K-Hearts} river was as Gruenberger spiked a cowboy to double up.

Greenstein Triples With Jack-High

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Barry Greenstein (small blind), Steven-John Jost (big blind), and Ivan Zhechev (button) got their chips before the flop with the latter covering both blinds.

Barry Greenstein: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Steven-John Jost: {2-Spades}{3-Spades}
Ivan Zhechev: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and with just jack-high, Greenstein tripled his 18,500-stack while Jost exited the tournament area.

Ricky Guan Eliminated by Henry Strasser

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Ricky Guan was under the gun and he moved all in for right around 30,000. Actionf folded around where Henry Strasser moved all in over the top for a bit more. Everyone else folded so it was off to a showdown.

Guan: {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Strasser: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

It looked good for Guan when the {A-Hearts} was in the window, but it was followed by the {Q-Clubs} and {8-Spades} putting him in a deep hole. The turn was the {10-Spades} and the river was the {9-Diamonds} and that was it for Guan who hits the rail after earning himself a small cash.

Gimbel Still In It

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Harrison Gimbel, who won this event back in 2010 for $2.2 million, shoved for his last 28,000. The big blind called with {K-Spades}{9-Spades} while Gimbel turned over {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

The {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop made things iffy for Gimbel, but the {4-Clubs} on the turn and {A-Diamonds} on the river were good for him and he doubled up.
