Davies Versus Kenney

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Bryn Kenney opened the cutoff for 23,000 and big blind Seth Davies called on the 5-handed table. The two of them checked on {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the {2-Clubs} hit the turn. Davies bet 60,000 and Kenney called.

As the board paired with the {6-Clubs} on the river, Davies bet 140,000. Kenney, while eating a wrap, thought about it for a few seconds and eventually tossed in a single 1,000-chip to call. Davies showed {J-Spades}{5-Spades} and Kenney mucked.

Big Huni Done and Dusted

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Action folded to Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen on the button and he moved all in for 105,000. Seth Davies called him out of the big blind.

Hunichen: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Davies: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Hunichen was way behind, and he wouldn't get lucky as the board ran out {2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

PokerStars Championship Player of the Year Nick Petrangelo Eliminated

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Christopher Kruk in the small blind and he raised to 23,000, which inspired Nick Petrangelo to move all in from the big for 170,000. Kruk called.

Kruk: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Petrangelo: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

It was a flip, but Petrangelo, who on Friday night won the PokerStars Championship Player of the Year SnG for $100K, had to improve to keep his first-ever PCA $100K SHR cash hopes alive.

The {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop didn't do him any favors, and neither did the {3-Hearts} turn. Petrangelo needed to spike the river to survive, but it was not meant to be as the {4-Spades} ended up giving Kruk a set.

Dan Shak Eliminated in Massive Pot

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Daniel Negreanu was first to act and opened. It folded to Dan Shak in the big blind and he three-bet to 87,000. Negreanu called in position.

Shak continued for 175,000 on {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Negreanu wasted no time calling.

The {9-Spades} hit the turn and Shak shoved for 352,000. Negreanu called instantly.

"You got queens?" Shak asked.

"I got two pair," Negreanu replied before anyone had shown their cards.

"Two pair is ahead," Shak said with a pained look on his face.

Daniel Negreanu: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Dan Shak: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

Shak needed an ace, five, or eight to stay alive but missed with the {7-Hearts} on the river.

"Well played," Shak said with a sarcastic tone to his voice.

"Thank you," Negreanu replied.

"I didn't bet enough on the flop?" Shak asked.

"I had top pair!" Negreanu said, "I flopped the best I could hope for. What am I gonna do? Fold?"

Shak left the tournament floor as Negreanu started stacking towers of chips worth a combined 1.25 million.

PCA $100K Super High Roller Newcomer Kevin Hobbs Eliminated

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Kevin Hobbs on Day 1
Kevin Hobbs on Day 1

Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu raised to 22,000 from middle position and Seth Davies called from the button. Kevin Hobbs then three-bet all in for 87,000 from the small blind and Negreanu just called. Davies came along as well and three players took a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Negreanu bet 70,000, Davies folded, and the cards were turned up.

Hobbs: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Negreanu: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Hobbs was in a bad spot, and the {5-Clubs} turn left him drawing dead. Hobbs began shaking hands with everyone at the table as the dealer put out the meaningless {9-Spades} on the river.

Timothy Adams, who last month won the PokerStars Championship Prague €50,000 Super High Roller for $652,526, will not be winning back-to-back SHR titles.

His demise came after Ivan Luca raised to 18,000 from UTG+2 and Adams moved all in for 254,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Luca and he snap-called.

Luca: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Adams: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Luca was way out in front, and he stayed there as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

Davies Doubles Through Kanit

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Seth Davies got his last 246,000 in before the flop holding {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. His opponent, his neighbor Mustapha Kanit, had just {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and wouldn't suck out. The board came {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Davies doubled.
