Sam Greenwood Eliminated in 9th Place ($89,320)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Three players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Martin Zamani led out for 80,000 from the big blind. Sam Greenwood shipped all in for around 580,000 and Tom-Aksel Bedell made the call in the cutoff. Zamani folded pocket tens face up and the other two hands were tabled.

Tom-Aksel Bedell: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} on the turn gave Greenwood two pair and narrowed Bedell's outs, but the {5-Clubs} on the river handed Bedell a flush and eliminated Greenwood in ninth place.

Max Silver Eliminated in 10th Place ($75,080)

Max Silver put in 160,000 from the small blind, leaving about 35,000 back. Markus Durnegger immediately announced all in and Silver took his 30 seconds, watching to see if anyone busted from the other table.

"I'm gonna need to improve," he declared.

Finally, he put his chips in and tossed {q-Spades}{7-Hearts} in the middle, and he was correct that he needed improvement as Durnegger held {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

The {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop had Silver calling "gee gee" and indeed he was dead on the {9-Clubs} turn.

Zamani Barrels Three Streets This Time

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Martin Zamani raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Sam Greenwood called on his left in the cutoff. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Zamani continued for 80,000 which Greenwood called.

The {3-Spades} paired the board on the turn and Zamani fired out another 125,000. Greenwood still called and the {2-Diamonds} completed the board. Zamani pushed in a bet of 270,000 and finally got a fold from Greenwood. Zamani tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and pulled in the pot.

Kelvin Kerber was all in from the button for 230,000 and Sam Greenwood had him at risk from the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Kerber was a favorite with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}, but a six on the turn had him sliding out of his seat and wishing everyone good luck with a sigh.

On a handful of blinds, Nick Petrangelo defended big blind and then shoved on a {k-}{k-}{7-} flop with {7-}{5-}, but Gianluca Speranza had him in awful shape with {8-}{8-}. The turn and river didn't help Petrangelo and he's first to hit the rail on Day 3.

Only One Bet from Zamani

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Martin Zamani opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Kelvin Kerber defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Kerber check-called a bet of 75,000 from Zamani.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {k-Hearts} on the river. Kerber checked again and Zamani instantly knuckled the table as well. Kerber tabled {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} but Zamani had {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a better kicker.

Petrangelo on Fumes

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo opened for 40,000 in the cutoff and Gianluca Speranza defended big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} and Petrangelo continued for 70,000, with Speranza calling. Both checked the {j-Diamonds}, bringing an {8-Diamonds} river. Speranza checked and Petrangelo announced 260,000.

Speranza asked to see Petrangelo's stack, and there was 150,000 back. He moved all in and Petrangelo instantly folded.

Bedell Doubles on the First Hand

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On the very first hand, Kelvin Kerber opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Tom-Aksel Bedell three-bet to 85,000 on the button. Kerber four-bet shoved and Bedell quickly called off his stack of 390,000.

Tom-Aksel Bedell: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Kelvin Kerber: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Bedell picked up pocket aces and found a way to get all of his chips in the middle. The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Bedell scored a double up.

A Champion Will Be Crowned in the $25,000 PCA High Roller

PCA Trophy
PCA Trophy

Heading into the final day of the 2019 PCA at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, there is still plenty of dollar signs up for grabs in the $25,000 PCA High Roller. Just 12 players remain in the fight for the title and the winner will be walking away with nearly $900,000.

Thomas Muehloecker leads the field with 1,420,000 chips and is closely followed by his countryman Markus Durnegger with 1,385,000. The two players stole the show in the latter stages of Day 2 while sharing the same table, pulling away from the rest of the field. Muehloecker has been around the high roller circuit for many years now and has an impressive resume to show why, whereas Durnegger is trying to prove that he belongs with the big guys.

The field was littered with notable players to make up one of the strongest high rollers, so it is no wonder that many familiar faces still remain on Day 3. Sam Greenwood (880,000), Nick Petrangelo (530,000), Dominik Nitsche (475,000), Sean Winter (390,000), and Davidi Kitai (215,000) will all have their sights set on the first-place prize of $895,110. For those that bow out early, they will be guaranteed at least $65,440 which is nothing to shake a stick at.

The action will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time and will continue until a winner is crowned. The blinds will resume on level 21 at 10,000/20,000 with a 20,000 big blind ante and will continue to be 60 minutes in length. That is until the final three players are reached and the blinds levels are reduced to 30 minutes.
