Watson Sends Chen to Reentries

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a completed board of {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, Mike Watson had bet enough from the big blind to set small blind James Chen all in. The wager was roughly 24,000, about the size of the pot. Chen used two time banks and then called.

Watson showed {9-Clubs}{3-Spades} for trips and Chen mucked what looked to be {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs} when the dealer flashed the cards briefly.

Kempe Jams, Foxen Folds

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Three players were still alive in the hand on a board reading {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and the action checked to Alex Foxen on the button. Foxen bet 12,800 into a pot of around 15,000. Rainer Kempe was in the small blind and used a couple of time extensions before jamming all in for 50,400.

Davidi Kitai quickly folded in the big blind and now it was Foxen's turn to do some thinking. He also used two of his time extensions but eventually slid his cards to the muck. Foxen pleaded to see one of Kempe's cards and he was fortunate enough to see the {7-Spades}.

Katz Gets It In Ahead

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Cary Katz and Lester Edoc got all of their chips in the middle with Katz being the player at risk for 15,300. Much to his surprise, Katz was overly enthusiastic when he saw that he currently had the best hand.

Cary Katz: {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Lester Edoc: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

Both players flopped open-ended straight draws with Katz's being the better of the two. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the river brought the {j-Hearts} as Katz made his straight and doubled up.

Kruk Shuts Down After Making a Pair

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Chris Hunichen raised to 2,300 in the hijack and Christopher Kruk re-raised to 7,500 on the button. The blinds folded and Hunichen called to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Hunichen check-called a bet of 7,000 from Kruk and the {k-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked through to the {7-Clubs} on the river and then knuckled the table once more. Hunichen showed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} but Kruk turned a pair with {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Two In, One Out

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel got his stack of 34,400 in out of the small blind with {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} against the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Henrik Hecklen on a {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. The {q-Hearts} and {a-Hearts} were blanks on the turn and river and Thorel headed for the exit.

That was Thorel's second and final entry. Meanwhile, Steffen Sontheimer and Preben Stokkan have just used their allotted reentries.

The action folded to Henrik Hecklen on the button who made it 2,500 to go. Dario Sammartino three-bet to 10,000 in the small blind and Jean-Noel Thorel gave it some thought before folding his big blind. With the action back on Hecklen, he announced all in and Sammartino quickly called off his 51,400 stack.

Dario Sammartino: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Henrik Hecklen: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Sammartino was in a dominating position and held on throughout the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board to score a double up.
