Boeree Jumps Right Into the Action

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Liv Boeree just recently took a seat among all of the high rollers and it didn't take long for her to get her feet wet. Boeree raised it up from the hijack and JC Alvarado responded with an all in of around 12,500 from the big blind. Boeree quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

Liv Boeree: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
JC Alvarado: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Boeree never even broke a sweat as she collected the pot and sent Alvarado to the rail.

Reeves Snaps Off Petrangelo

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Lucas Reeves opened to 1,300 from early position and Nick Petrangelo was the only player to call from the big blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Petrangelo check-called a continuation of 2,400 from Reeves.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts} and both players checked to the {j-Clubs} on the river. As his time was expiring, Petrangelo announced a bet of 2,500 and Reeves snapped him off. Reeves quickly turned over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and Petrangelo just mucked his cards.

Quad-Burger for Newey

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

Paul Newey bet 9,800 from the big blind on a completed board of {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Benjamin Pollak thought briefly, smiled and said something to Newey, then folded. If he asked to see Newey's cards, the British high roller obliged: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for flopped quads.

Hunichen Gets the Best of Stokkan

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

The action folded to Chris Hunichen who raised it up on the button and Preben Stokkan three-bet to 4,000 in the small blind. Hunichen called and the flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Stokkan led out for 3,500 and Hunichen made the call.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Stokkan fired out another 10,000 which Hunichen still called. The {j-Spades} completed the board and Stokkan slowed down this time with a check. Hunichen checked it back and Stokkan showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} while Hunichen held {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the stronger pair.

Billard Cracks Andress' Aces

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

John Andress stuck in 3,500 from the cutoff and Francois Billard re-raised to 7,200 on the button. The blinds folded and Andress moved all in for 24,500 which prompted a quick call from Billard.

John Andress: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Francois Billard: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} left Andress in the lead with his pocket aces. However, the {q-Spades} on the turn gave Billard a set of queens and the {3-Spades} on the river was no help to Andress as he left the tournament area.
