Not Just a Flush

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Chin Wei Lim bet 5,500 from the small blind on a completed board of {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Artem Kobylynskyi raised to 14,000 from the button. Lim thought a bit and then called, and Kobylynskyi opened {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

"Flush," the dealer announced.

It was a bit more than though as the {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} was good for a royal flush, as someone quickly pointed out.

Aido Doubles Through Kennedy

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Christopher Kennedy raised it up to 1,000 and picked up calls from Henrik Hecklen and Igor Kurganov. Sergio Aido three-bet to 8,500 from the blinds and only Kennedy stuck around to see a flop.

The dealer fanned a flop of {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Aido checked to Kennedy who looked over at Aido's stack and then slid a stack of T5,000 chips into the middle. Aido only had 20,300 remaining and had a look of confusion on his face before making the call.

Kennedy turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and was in a world of trouble against Aido's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing and Aido scored a healthy double up.

Roberts Gets a Fold from Badziakouski

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

Mikita Badziakouski opened to 1,000 from early position and Lauren Roberts defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Roberts check-called a bet of 800 from Badziakouski.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Roberts checked again. Badziakouski fired another bullet of 3,200 and Roberts check-raised to 11,200. Badziakouski gave it little thought before sending his cards flying to the muck.

McKeehen and Schemion Each Burn a Bank

Level 5 : 200/500, 500 ante

On a completed board of {6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}, Ole Schemion bet 7,500 into 25,000 or so from the big blind, using a time bank in the process. Joe McKeehen, who was under the gun, needed his own time bank before putting in calling chips.

Schemion tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for queens up and the former Main Event champ couldn't beat it.

Soyza Escapes with Limited Damage

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Dario Sammartino raised it up from early position and Michael Soyza stuck in a three-bet directly to his left. The action folded back to Sammartino who decided to peel a flop heads-up. The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Sammartino check-called a bet of 3,000 from Soyza.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Sammartino checked again but Soyza checked back this time. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Sammartino checked for the third time. Soyza thought for 30 seconds but finally knuckled the table as well. Sammartino turned over {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush and Soyza flashed the {k-Hearts} with a smile.

Delval Slips Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

A board of {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} was spread across the felt and just Fredric Delval and Henrik Hecklen were left in the pot from the blinds. Delval shipped all in from the small blind and Hecklen called off his stack of 28,800 into a pot of around 18,000.

Delval tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top pair and Hecklen showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for the same pair but a better kicker. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Hecklen earned a double up, leaving Delval under 10,000 chips.
