Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
David_Peters
David_Peters

Three players saw a {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop and the first two checked to Thomas Muehloecker in the cutoff, here a bet of 1,400 emerged. One player folded but David Peters called from under the gun. The {9-Spades} turn checked through, bringing a {6-Spades} river. Peters bet 6,800 but Muehloecker dropped in enough to set him in for 18,500 more.

Peters thought long enough to use a time extension before flicking his cards in.

Jesus Cortes appears to have gone bust as he was just spotted back at the registration table. Jean-Noel Thorel followed suit moments later.

A Couple Pots for Marques

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Just catching the tail end of a hand between Jesus Cortes and Pedro Marques, it appeared that Cortes ran a triple-barrel bluff from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, Pedro Marques held {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} on a ten-high board and Cortes headed to the registration desk not long after he took his seat.

A couple of hands later, Scott Margereson opened to 800 in middle position and Marques called from the hijack. Sirzat Hissou three-bet to 3,500 on the button which got a fold from Margereson and a call from Marques.

The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Marques check-called a bet of 4,100 from Hissou. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and both players checked to the {6-Spades} on the river. Marques led out for 11,500 and Hissou sent his cards to the muck.

Lots of New Faces, Bonomo and Jiang Re-Enter

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

The field has continued to grow at a rapid pace in the early going with plenty of new faces making their way into the tournament area. Justin Bonomo and Sosia Jiang have also quickly re-entered the field and the tournament clock currently reads a total of 71 entries with 68 players remaining.

Bonomo Goes for the Hero Call

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

There were four players in the hand on a flop reading {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Justin Bonomo checked from the big blind. Christopher Kennedy bet 2,000 in middle position and was called by Frederic Delval and Henrik Hecklen on his left. Bonomo check-raised to 8,000 and only picked up a call from Kennedy.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Bonomo led out for 12,000 which Kennedy called. The {j-Hearts} completed the board and Bonomo opted to check this time. Kennedy quickly pushed all in and Bonomo was left with a decision for his remaining 25,000 chips. He used three-time extensions before finally pushing his chips in the middle.

Kennedy turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for two pair while Bonomo went for the hero call with {a-}{k-}.

Jiang Second Player Out

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante
Sosia Jiang, in the Main Event.
Sosia Jiang, in the Main Event.

Sosia Jiang bet 1,500 from the hijack on {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} with about 6,000 in the pot. Big blind Pedro Marques put in a raise to 7,500 and Jiang called, seeing the {5-Spades} river. Marques jammed for about 30,000 effective and Jiang thought briefly then dropped in a stack of chips.

Marques opened {8-Clubs}{6-Spades} for eights full and Jiang mucked what the dealer revealed to be {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Watson Over-flushes Peters

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante

Three players checked to David Peters on the button with a completed board of {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} on the felt and he bet 12,000 into about 14,000. One player folded but Mike Watson called from middle position before the last player mucked.

Peters opened {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush but Watson had him beat with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.
