Foxen Over Watson

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Dario Sammartino (L) and Alex Foxen
Dario Sammartino (L) and Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen bet big with 9,600 into 12,000 or so from the button on {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Mike Watson called in the small blind and the river was the {6-Spades}. Foxen bet 12,500 this time and Watson was in there with a quick call.

Foxen showed {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} for flopped trips and Watson could only shake his head slightly and muck.

Good Flop for Roberts Isn't Enough

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A sizeable pot was about to unfold between Lauren Roberts in the small blind and Markus Durnegger in the big blind. On a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Roberts checked to Durnegger who bet 7,000 into a pot of around 15,000. Roberts check-raised to 22,000 and Durnegger called.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, Roberts led out for 20,000 and Durnegger pushed all in for 22,500, which Roberts obviously called. "Do you have an overpair?" Roberts asked. Durnegger replied by showing {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Roberts was in trouble with {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Durnegger held on for a full double up. "That was such a good flop for me," Roberts explained, but it wasn't enough to earn her the pot.

Awful Turn For Loeser Busts Him

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Two players checked to Kelvin Kerber on an {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and he bet 2,300 from the cutoff. Manig Loeser called in the big blind and they went heads up to the {4-Spades} turn. Loeser checked and Kerber bet huge with 16,000 into about 9,000. Loeser used a time extension then said he was all in, but Kerber almost beat him to the pot and showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Loeser dropped his hand in face down, indicating he didn't have any outs, and the dealer turned over {9-Spades}{6-Spades} for an inferior flush.

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Peters Spikes the River to Double Up

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
David_Peters

In a three-bet pot, Daniel Dvoress and David Peters were heads-up with a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Dvoress led out for 5,500 from the big blind and Peters called on the button.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Dvoress moved all in. Peters called off his stack of 20,100 and the cards were tabled. Dvoress showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} which was ahead of Peters with {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. However, the {j-Hearts} on the river paired Peters' jack and he scored a double up.
