Kruk Won't Repeat

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Christopher Kruk came in as the defending champion and was looking to go for back-to-back titles in the $25,000 PCA High Roller. However, his hopes were dashed when Kelvin Kerber opened to 12,000 in the hijack and Kruk pushed all in for 46,500 in the cutoff. Thomas Muehloecker re-raised to 81,000 on the button and the rest of the table folded including Kerber.

Thomas Muehloecker: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Christopher Kruk: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Although Kruk was in a dominating position, the flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} gave Muehloecker the lead. The turn was the {q-Hearts} and the river was the {10-Clubs} to send Kruk to the rail before the money.

Martin Zamani asked Nitsche to show one and said he'd show one later if Nitsche asked.

Watson Climbing, Bedell Doubles Up

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a board reading {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Mike Watson led out for 25,000 from the big blind into a pot of around 30,000. Rob Hollink was his opponent on the button who made the call. The river brought the {j-Diamonds} and Watson made a small bet of 20,000 which Hollink called. Watson tabled {j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Hollink mucked.

In the next hand, the action folded to Kristina Holst on the button who shoved all in for 114,000. Watson asked for a count but folded and Tom-Aksel Bedell mulled it over in the big blind before making the call for his last 74,000.

Holst tabled {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} which was ahead of Bedell's {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The flop came {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Holst's king-high was still best. The {8-Hearts} gave Holst two pair on the turn but it didn't mean much with Bedell still having two overcards and a flush draw. The {q-Clubs} dropped on the river to give Bedell a better two pair and a full double up.
