De Zutter Makes De Silva Send Them to De Muck

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In a three-bet pot containing around 190,000, Alexandre De Zutter checked in the small blind and Upeshka De Silva bet 72,000 on {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. De Zutter responded by raising all in for effectively 237,000 more. De Silva leaned back and went into the tank for about a minute before mucking.

Hall Doubles Through Tatu

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Vlad Tatu raised to 16,000 and big stack Marc Perrault in the cutoff three-bet to 46,000. Toby Lewis in the big blind gave it some thought and folded, as did Tatu. They were shown the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} by Perrault.

One hand later, Tatu raised and Brandon Hall jammed for the last 46,000. Lewis again gave it some consideration and folded, Mark Radoja in the big blind asked for a count and folded also with the words "I thought I saw a green in there." Tatu called and the cards were on their back.

Brandon Hall: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Vlad Tatu: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

"Nines are running hot today," Bill Perkins added in table chat. They weren't hot enough to send Hall to the rail, however, as the board came up blank with {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

West Jams Into Jattin

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jonathan West and Farid Jattin clashed in a bigger pot to the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Jattin made it 147,000 to go out of the blinds. West considered his options for quite some time and eventually moved all in for more than 330,000, a quick fold by Jattin followed.

As a result, the start-of-the-day chip leader from Colombia had to surrender the top spot and even dropped below West.

Rettenmaier Picks Off Greenwood

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Timothy Adams & Sam Greenwood
Timothy Adams & Sam Greenwood

With the board already reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Luc Greenwood and Marvin Rettenmaier were left heads-up in the pot. Both players checked the turn and Greenwood bet 85,000 into about 70,000 when the {4-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

Rettenmaier mulled over his decision for a couple of minutes and eventually tossed in a single chip to signify a call. Greenwood showed {6-Spades}{3-Spades} for a missed straight and flush draw while Rettenmaier tabled {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

Turn Bet Takes It

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Tracey Guice opened to 17,000 on the cutoff. Ramon Colillas, in the big blind, called.

The dealer spread a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Colillas checked. Guice bet 17,000. Colillas check-called.

The turn brought the {3-Spades}. Colillas checked again. Guice fired another bet of 25,000, that was enough to claim the pot.

Bernabeu, Srinivasan Eliminated

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

A player in early position opened for 18,000, Blair Hinkle made it 53,000 on the button and small blind Samuel Bernabeu jammed in the small blind for 271,000. The opener mucked and Hinkle quickly called with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Bernabeu showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

The dealer spread a flop of {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Bernabeu left his seat, accepting a fist bump from Hinkle after the {10-Spades} turn ended his slim hopes.

At another table, Shyam Srinivasan busted, saying he ran kings into Tracey Guice's aces.

Elias Hangs Tough, Hand-for-Hand Begins

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded to Christoph Vogelsang who raised it up on the button. Darren Elias called from the big blind and the two players went heads-up to a flop of {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Elias check-called a bet from Vogelsang and the {3-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Elias checked again and Vogelsang tossed in a bet of 50,000. Elias continued to call and the {3-Spades} paired the board on the river. Elias checked one more time and Vogelsang reluctantly checked it back. Elias tabled {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} and that proved to be enough to take down the pot.

With 185 players remaining, the tournament director has elected to start the hand-for-hand process a bit early to prevent stalling. The clock will continue to run throughout the hand-for-hand process.
