Talal Shakerchi shoved under the gun for 1,750,000 and Scott Stewart called for less, 920,000, in the cutoff.
Talal Shakerchi:
Scott Stewart:
Stewart seemed optimistic about his chances, hopefully suggesting some opponents had mucked fives, but the brought nothing for him. The turn likewise, so he needed to pair on the river. It was a brick though: , leaving him out 17th and leading to a redraw.
Griffin Benger opened to 260,000 from under the gun with and Julien Martini just called in the cutoff with . Jason Koonce also came along from the small blind with and an action flop of hit the board.
Koonce checked his set to Benger who continued for 375,000 with surprisingly the worst hand. Martini called with his top pair and Koonce made a huge check-raise to 2,000,000. Benger laid his hand down and Martini eventually sent his cards to the muck as well.
The remaining 17 players are in the midst of their second scheduled 20-minute break. A redraw will take place once the field has been reduced to the last 16 and for the unofficial final table of the last nine.
Ramon Colillas raised to 230,000 on the button and Luis Faria moved all in for 1,370,000 from one seat over. Yiannis Liperis in the big blind asked for a count and then moved all in over the top, forcing a quick fold from Colillas.
Luis Faria:
Yiannis Liperis:
Liperis flopped top two pair on the flop, and the turn and river failed to keep Faria in contention. He takes home $175,300 for his efforts and next pay jump has been reached, as all remaining 17 players are guaranteed at least $202,400.
Scott Baumstein three-bet to what looked to be 725,000 in the small blind when Marc Perrault opened early, and Perrault came along for the flop. Baumstein bet 450,000 and Perrault continued to the . This time, Perrault called a barrel of 775,000. On the river, Baumstein went with a similar sizing of 795,000. Perrault called fairly quickly but couldn't beat for flopped two pair.
Yiannis Liperis opened for 220,000 under the gun, Louis Boutin flatted on the button and Ramon Colillas jammed in the small blind for 1,240,000. Liperis reshoved and Boutin mucked.
Ramon Colillas:
Yiannis Liperis:
The board gave Liperis a shot with a combo draw, but the river was a black card that didn't help him.
Scott Stewart open-shoved first to act and short stack Florian Duta asked for a count from one seat over, sitting on just four and a half big blinds. The jam was for 1,625,000 and Duta ended up using all his five remaining time banks to mull over his decision and called all in for 445,000, the rest of the table folded.
Florian Duta:
Scott Stewart:
Duta took the lead on the flop and Stewart grabbed his time banks on the turn, telling the dealer "I give you all my time banks if you give me a three."
He then tried it with just three time banks and a grin on the face, but the on the river was a blank to bring both players to near identical stacks.
