Perrault Loses Flip to Peukert; Busts

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Marc Perrault
Marc Perrault

Stefan Peukert pushed for 99,000 first to act and Marc Perrault called out of the big blind.

It was a classic flip with the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for Peukert and the {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}, which ran out in favor of Peukert thanks to a board of {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

Perrault was down to 89,000 and shoved {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to get called by Tommy Nguyen with the {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

The board came {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} and that spelled the end for Perrault.

Philipp Kaempf
Philipp Kaempf

Philipp Kaempf opened to 17,000 from early position. Marc-Andre Ladouceur, in the hijack, called, along with Matt Berkey in the big blind.

A flop reading {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} was dealt. Berkey checked. Kaempf bet 20,000. Ladouceur called. Berkey check-raised to 85,000. Kaempf went deep into the tank before moving all in for around 195,000. Ladouceur folded and Berkey snap-called.

Matt Berkey: {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Philipp Kaempf: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The {7-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river filled up the board and Berkey raked in the pot, sending Kaempf to the exit.

Strelitz's Set Fatal for Leah

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Mike Leah
Mike Leah

On a {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, Daniel Strelitz shoved after a bet from Mike Leah, and Leah called it off for 460,000 total.

Mike Leah: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Daniel Strelitz: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Daniel Strelitz held the current lead with a set, leaving the Canadian to draw to a flush. The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Leah picked up a straight draw to go with the spades, but the river {10-Diamonds} improved him to just an inferior two pair and he was eliminated.

Elliot Smith
Elliot Smith

Over on the live stream table, Elliot Smith was all in for 172,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Matthias Eibinger looked him up with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

Eibinger picked up a lot more outs on the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and the {8-Diamonds} turn, and the {Q-Clubs} river improved the Austrian to send Smith to the rail.

Jimmy Guerrero

Byron Kaverman raised and Brian Altman three-bet the button, then Jimmy Guerrero four-bet shoved out of the big blind. Kaverman folded and Altman was priced in to make the call.

Jimmy Guerrero: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Brian Altman: {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The board of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades} gave Altman a flush and Guerrero was done for the day.

"He lost kings to nines and now again with kings," Felipe Pantoja said in table chat.

Karmatckii Doesn't Get There

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
2018 EPT Sochi champ Arsenii Karmatckii
2018 EPT Sochi champ Arsenii Karmatckii

Marc-Andre Ladouceur had 15,000 in front of him on the button, Arsenii Karmatckii three-bet to 48,000 from the big blind and Ladouceur called. On the {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Karmatchkii bet 26,000 and Ladouceur called.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and after using one time bank, the 2018 EPT Sochi champ moved all in for 145,000. Ladouceur also needed one time bank before calling it off for the majority of his remaining stack.

Arsenii Karmatckii: {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Marc-Andre Ladouceur: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

Karmatckii had quite a few outs left and needed a five, ace or diamond to continue his run at a second major PokerStars title. The river was the {Q-Hearts}, none of his outs, and the Russian hopeful finished in 70th place.

Death By Quads for Gathy

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Michael Gathy jammed the button for 37,000 and Sam Greenwood reshoved out of the small blind to isolate.

Michael Gathy: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}
Sam Greenwood: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop instantly gave Greenwood the check mark with quads, making the {K-Spades} turn and {J-Clubs} river meaningless.

However, the fortune of Greenwood only lasted a few minutes as he ended up second-best with {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} against the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} of Aleksandr Gofman. On a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Gofman doubled for 100,000 and Greenwood was sent back to a severe short stack.
