Chiciak Doubles Up on The Money Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Martin Johnstone opened to 15,000 from under the gun and Lukas Chiciak three-bet to 40,000 next to act. Katie Lindsay put in a four-bet to 100,000 on the button and it folded back around to Johnstone who quickly got out of the way. Chiciak took some time before moving all in for 154,000 total and Lindsay made the call to put Chiciak at risk.

Lukas Chiciak: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Katie Lindsay: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to give aces a sweat, but when the board ran out {6-Diamonds} {3-Spades}, it was Chiciak that scored the full double up on the stone bubble.

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Iliodoros Kamatakis raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Rui Ferreira called from the next seat over. The rest of the table got out of the way and action was heads up.

The flop was {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Kamatakis continued for 18,000. Ferreira called and the turn was {7-Hearts}.

Both players checked the turn to see {4-Spades} on the river. Kamatakis checked and then folded when Ferreira put out a big stack of blue T-5,000 chips.

Meanwhile, Ludovic Geilich is at the same table and he has continued to chip up in recent levels.

Guillermo Sanz
Guillermo Sanz

Brunno Botteon raised to 13,000 from middle position and Guillermo Sanz made it 33,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way and Botteon spent a few moments in the tank before he made it 85,000. Sanz thought it over for a few moments, but the bet was too rich and he gave up the pot.

Anderson Doubles With Rockets

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The PokerNews team was called over to Table 8 when all the chips were in the middle preflop between Luc Lafontaine and Blake Anderson, who was the player at risk.

Blake Anderson: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Luc Lafontaine: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Anderson got his 162,000 chip stack in as good as he could get, and when the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, it was the rockets for Anderson that held up to secure a full double up and leave Lafontaine short.

Schaeffer Takes From Alkamli

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Eric Schaeffer on the button who opened for 10,000 and only Tamer Alkamli made the call in the big blind.

The flop fanned out {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Alkamli check-called a bet of 11,000 from Schaeffer. On the {9-Spades} turn Alkamli checked again and Schaeffer tossed out 21,000. Alkamli took a moment, but eventually made the call.

The {4-Hearts} hit the river and Alkamli quickly tapped the table for a check. Schaeffer contemplated his options, but reluctantly checked back to a showdown.

Alkamli opened {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for ace-high while Schaeffer tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for the winning hand.

"I was worried he had sevens," said Schaeffer to the table as he collected his chips.

Jeannette Mendez: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Shawn Buchanan: {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board finished up with {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Buchanan made kings and fours on the river to catch up to Mendez and send her to the rail.

Johnstone Coolers Anderson

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Blake Anderson opened to 9,000 from early position and both Martin Johnstone on the button and Luc Lafontaine in the big blind called.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Lafontaine checked to Anderson, who continued for 11,000. Only Johnstone came along. On the {7-Diamonds} turn, Anderson kept the betting lead with a size of 25,000 and again Johnstone called.

The {10-Spades} completed the board and Anderson took a moment before sliding a bet of 60,000 forward. Johnstone quickly announced call and the cards were tabled.

Anderson revealed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for flopped trips but was no good when Johnstone opened {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} for trips with a better kicker.
