Garagnani Folds Out Afriat; Bonomo Busts & Reenters

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

Eric Afriat opened to 2,600 from the cutoff before Pedro Garagnani made it 7,600 from the button. Action folded back to Afriat and he four-bet to 17,600, leaving 42,000 behind. After mulling over his option, Garagnani jammed as the big stack and after a few moments Afriat folded his cards.

As the hand played out, Brandon Wilson was seen collecting the stack that once belonged to Justin Bonomo. Wilson briefly recapped the hand to PokerNews.

Bonomo four-bet jammed after Brandon Wilson reraised Bonomo's preflop open. Wilson called to put the all-time money list leader at risk.

Bonomo had {a-}{k-} while Wilson had {j-}{j-}. Bonomo failed to connect on the runout and headed to the registration desk where he has since reentered with a fresh stack.

Meran Doesn't Fold Against Chamas

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With 10,500 and 5,500 respectively already pulled into the middle, the turn showed {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Alberto Meran checked out of the small blind and called a bet worth 10,500 by Rayan Chamas. On the {4-Diamonds} river, Meran and Chamas checked it down and the pot was awarded to Meran with the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

"I bet he would have folded if you shove," Chance Kornuth chimed in. Meran and Chamas then discussed a hand they played in the WCOOP hand and they concluded "I guess we will never find out now".

Santiago Plante
Santiago Plante

Benjamin Spragg raised to 2,500 from early position before Santiago Plante three-bet to 8,500 from the hijack. Action folded around to Brian Kim in the big blind who moved all in for around 38,000.

Spragg quickly folded and Plante snap-called covering Kim.

Santiago Plante: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Brian Kim: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

It was a cooler as Kim's ace king had run into Plante's pocket aces. The flop came {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}. The turn came the {4-Clubs} giving Kim one out to the chop. Kim called for the four but the river came the {3-Clubs} to eliminate Kim early in the day.

Bohlman Busts Simpson and Loeser

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Manig Loeser raised to 2,400 and Scott Bohlman in the small blind three-bet to 9,000. Conrad Simpson then four-bet jammed from the big blind for 36,100 and Loeser asked for an exact count. The EPT Monte-Carlo champion mulled it over for a minute and shipped it in over the top for around 62,000.

Bohlman asked for a rough count and took some 30 seconds before making the call. Once the cards were revealed, there were some gasps at the table.

Conrad Simpson: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Manig Loeser: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Scott Bohlman: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop left both Simpson and Loeser on the ropes. No miracle escape followed on the {9-Spades} turn and the {5-Diamonds} river only improved Bohlman to the best flush.

"He is a mixed game player, he doesn't know how to play Hold'em," Dustin Dirksen chimed in when some players suspected a slowroll. Bohlman replied "this is like my 25th best game" before adding he had just lost a large pot with kings versus aces not long ago during another event.

Yannick Schumacher: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Alan Casuo: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
