Holz Takes From Ponakovs

Level 21 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz raised to 90,000 three times in quick succession. He once stole the blinds, then folded to a three-bet shove by Steve O'Dwyer.

The third raise was called by Aleksejs Ponakovs in the cutoff and table short stack David Peters out of the big blind. On a {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, it checked to Ponakovs who bet 65,000. Peters folded and Holz called.

They headed to the {2-Spades} turn on which Holz check-called for another 200,000. Following the {a-Diamonds} river, Holz checked the third street in a row. Ponakovs used one time bank to check behind and mucked after Holz revealed {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for the top two pair.

Lehne Eliminated by Haxton to Set Up Final Table and Bubble

Level 21 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Kathy Lehne
Kathy Lehne

Isaac Haxton opened to 80,000 in the cutoff and Kathy Lehne three-bet all-in for the 450,000 she had behind on the button. The call by Haxton followed and they had to wait for the other table to complete their hand, on which Steve O'Dwyer got a button shove through.

Kathy Lehne: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Isaac Haxton: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave Lehne the lead but the preflop order was restored with the {a-Diamonds} turn. No help for Lehne arrived on the {k-Diamonds} river as Haxton further improved to two pair.

All seven players will now redraw to the final table.

Davies Eliminated by Ponakovs

Level 21 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Kathy Lehne open-jammed out of the small blind and got through with it as Adrian Mateos forfeited the big blind.

Over on the other table, Aleksejs Ponakovs min-raised to 80,000 from under the gun and Seth Davies defended the big blind. On a {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Davies mulled it over for a bit and jammed for the last 175,000. Ponakovs sighed, used one time bank while activating all the nodes and called.

Seth Davies: {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {10-Diamonds} turn improved Ponakovs and the {7-Diamonds} river knocked out Davies in 9th place.

Two eliminations away from the seven-handed final table and on uneven tables, the tournament staff has decided to continue with hand-for-hand mode.

Fedor Holz chipped up in the first two hands when he raised to 80,000 and stole the blinds, then three-bet jammed into an open raise of Aleksejs Ponakovs.

Smith Eliminated by Haxton

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

The recent surge of Isaac Haxton continued while David Peters and Dan Smith slipped.

It was then Smith who jammed for 165,000 on the button and Haxton called in the big blind.

Dan Smith: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Isaac Haxton: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Smith was out in front and that stayed the case on the {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} flop and {2-Clubs} turn. Haxton had spades and fives as outs, one of which came with the {5-Hearts} river.

One table over, Fedor Holz three-bet jammed into Nick Petrangelo and got through with it.

Ponakovs Clashes With O'Dwyer

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Aleksejs Ponakovs
Aleksejs Ponakovs

Steve O'Dwyer four-bet jammed into Aleksejs Ponakovs, who had just arrived to balance the last ten players and quickly called it off for the 675,000 he had behind.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The superior pair stayed out in front all the way on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts} board as O'Dwyer had to forfeit essentially half of his stack, sending Ponakovs into the top spot.
