No Miracle Comeback for Yan

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
David Yan
David Yan

David Yan committed his last 60,000 from the under-the-gun position and Nick Petrangelo three-bet to 90,000 for a min-click in the very next seat. Steve O'Dwyer was in the big blind and gave it some consideration before getting out of the way.

David Yan: {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Nick Petrangelo: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The superior hand before the flop remained ahead all the way on the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} board as the field was reduced to the last ten hopefuls.

O'Dwyer Doubles Back Into the Lead

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

David Yan chuckled and said "almost" after his stack was reduced to a mere two big blinds. His {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} had flopped not much help on {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} as the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Steve O'Dwyer prevailed thanks to the {8-Spades} turn and {k-Hearts} river.

Both stacks were counted and O'Dwyer doubled for 675,000, Yan was left with just 60,000.

Over on the other table, Isaac Haxton raised to 60,000 and Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet to 150,000. Adrian Mateos four-bet jammed and both opponents folded.

Petrangelo Wins With a Check-Raise

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Scott Davies raised on the button to 65,000 and was called by Nick Petrangelo in the big blind. Following a {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Petrangelo checked and subsequently check-raised from 35,000 to 105,000. Davies mulled it over for a few seconds only and folded.

Some Jams But No Calls

Level 20 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs started open-shoving and the stack of Kathy Lehne and Dan Smith started to plummet. Adrian Mateos then three-bet jammed into a min-raise by Ponakovs, who quickly folded.

Shortly after in the last hand of the level, a min-raise to 50,000 by Isaac Haxton emerged and Lehne pushed for 315,000 on the button. Smith was in the big blind and tanked before he tossed in one additional chip, thinking he'd call the min-raise. Haxton folded and the dealer announced "showdown please" after which Smith realized the error.

The floor was called and Smith's 50,000 were in the middle for certain but he didn't commit most of his chips to look up Lehne for an expensive "missclick".

O'Dwyer Busts Seiji; Doubles Petrangelo

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Rodrigo Seiji
Rodrigo Seiji

The cards were already on their backs before the flop and Rodrigo Seiji was the player at risk for 335,000 in the cutoff and he got looked up by Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind.

Rodrigo Seiji: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The inferior ace was trailing on the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop and {4-Clubs} turn but the {9-Hearts} river sent Seiji to the rail.

Nick Petrangelo then raised to 50,000 with 330,000 behind in the next hand. O'Dwyer in the small blind pushed all-in and Petrangelo called.

Nick Petrangelo: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Steve O'Dwyer: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Following a {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, Petrangelo took the lead with his pair of queens. A sweat came with the {6-Clubs} turn as O'Dwyer picked up a gutshot to have six outs. However, the {3-Clubs} river was not among those and Petrangelo doubled.

Yan Bad Beats Petrangelo for a Double

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

David Yan had previously gotten a short stack shove through and was then all-in soon after, getting a quick call by Nick Petrangelo.

David Yan: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Nick Petrangelo: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop gave Yan a set of tens and there was no further upset in the cards on the {4-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river runout.

Haxton Takes One Off Peters

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With 125,000 in the middle to the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs} river in a battle of the blinds, David Peters checked his option out of the small blind. Isaac Haxton bet 65,000 in the big blind and Peters shrugged before he called after some 15 seconds.

Haxton rolled over the {10-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Peters also exposed his {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}, after which Haxton gave him a rather surprised look before collecting the pot. Prior to the next hand, Peters himself could all but chuckle about what had just happened.

Davies Pulls Ahead of Yan

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Seth Davies defended his big blind against an under-the-gun raise by David Yan and opted to check the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Yan asked to see his stack before betting 35,000 and Davies came along.

After the {3-Hearts} turn, Davies checked again and Yan bet 75,000. One time bank by Davies was used before he tossed in calling chips.

Both then checked the {q-Hearts} on the river and the {a-Spades}{3-Clubs} for aces and treys by Davies won the pot as he leaped ahead of Yan.
