Ausmus Takes a Three-Way Pot

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 0 ante

The action was picked up in a pot of 11,400 on a flop showing {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Noah Schwartz in the hijack and Shaun Deeb in the cutoff both checked to Jeremy Ausmus on the button who bet out 3,500. Schwartz called and Deeb got out of the way.

Both players checked on the {5-Hearts} turn and again on the {10-Diamonds} river. Ausmus revealed {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a straight and Schwartz double checked his hand before tossing it into the muck.

The popular BSOP made an appearance at the PCA with the BSOP Bahamas Main Event. That was won by Canada’s Allan Barnes after he defeated Vicente Delgado in heads-up play.

This is the first win for Barnes, and a long time coming after a few deep runs in the Bahamas.

“First of all, me and my wife absolutely love The Bahamas," he told PokerNews in a winner's interview. "It feels very, very good. It’s a monkey off my back.

"I’ve had some cashes down here and I’ve gone deep in some tournaments where I busted out before it really got exciting. This one here is a nice victory.”

The action was picked up when all the chips hit the middle on the flop of {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} between Laszlo Bujtas and Dylan Smith, who was the player at risk for his last roughly 40,000.

Dylan Smith: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and the pair of sixes held for Bujtas to send Smith to the rebuy desk.

Meanwhile on another table Sam Haddad had already used his one reentry and was eliminated from the event.

Joni Jouhkimainen opened from the hijack to 2,700 and only Andrew Pantling made the call next to act.

The dealer fanned out {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Jouhkimainen check-called a bet of 4,000 from Pantling. On the {3-Clubs} turn, Jouhkimainen checked again and Pantling sized up to 14,000. Jouhkimainen took a moment but eventually made the fold and the pot was sent to the new chip leader.

Cary Katz jumped in the action just after the dinner break and was involved early when he limped in from the cutoff and Andrew Pantling raised to 3,000 on the button.

Nathan Zimnik potted to 11,400 in the small blind and both Katz and Pantling made the call.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}. Zimnik checked to Katz who announced pot and slid forward 35,600. Pantling and Zimnik quickly folded and the pot was sent to the new arrival Katz.
