Kaverman Binks the River

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 32,000 as the first player to act and was called only by Byron Kaverman in the big blind. On a {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Kaverman checked and subsequently called when Thorel continued for 32,000.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn was checked and Kaverman only bet 16,000 on the {3-Spades} river. Thorel leaped out of his chair to study the bet and his opponent before he made the call.

Kaverman flipped over {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trips treys and that won the pot. "You had a jack?" he asked and Thorel nodded "ace jack".

More for Bonomo and Kaverman

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 35,000 on the button and Justin Bonomo three-bet to 125,000 out of the small blind, which shut down Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind as well as Greenwood.

Shortly after, Byron Kaverman raised to 57,000 in the small blind, picking up a call by Jean-Noel Thorel out of the big blind. Kaverman bet 45,000 on the {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and that was enough to win the pot right there.

Bonomo Jams Into Kaverman

Justin Bonomo

Jean-Noel Thorel limped the button and folded when Sam Greenwood made it 70,000 to go in the small blind.

Byron Kaverman then raised to 37,000 and Justin Bonomo clicked it back to 130,000 in the small blind. What followed was a four-bet to 250,000 by Kaverman.

"How much do you have behind?" Bonomo asked Kaverman, who simply moved his hands to reveal the chips at his disposal. "Can you break down the 25s?" Bonomo followed up and Kaverman revealed he had 300,000 of those.

Two time banks were used by Bonomo, who then moved all-in and forced an instant fold of Kaverman.

Bonomo Keeps Rising Further

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised and called a three-bet to 80,000 by Justin Bonomo in a duel hijack versus cutoff. The {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop brought a check from Greenwood, who then folded when Bonomo continued for 65,000.

Shortly after, Byron Kaverman raised it up to 34,000 on the button and Greenwood called in the big blind. The {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop resulted in a check-call by Greenwood for 26,000. Both checked the {j-Hearts} turn and a bet of Greenwood for 90,000 on the {7-Clubs} river shut down Kaverman's ambitions to win the pot.

Katz Has Lots of Outs; Misses Them All

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Artur Martirosian's cutoff raise was defended by Cary Katz in the big blind, which led them to the {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. Katz elected to check-call a bet of 16,000 and then open-shoved the {7-Clubs} turn.

Martirosian asked for an exact count and made the call when it was deemed to be for 205,000.

Cary Katz: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Artur Martirosian: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The top pair of the Russian was ahead but Katz had plenty of outs with his gutshot and flush draw. However, the {k-Diamonds} river was not among them to reduce the field to the final 10 players.

One hand later, Martirosian raised and collected the blinds and big blind ante without resistance.

"Not a steal", he joked and exposed the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. "A little steal," Chris Brewer added.

Martirosian Rockets Up The Leaderboard; Yong Eliminated

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Rob Yong
Rob Yong

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 33,000 from under the gun and it folded to Rob Yong on the button who moved all in for 197,000 total. Artur Martirosian asked for a count in the big blind and then moved all in over the top for 1,100,000. Vogelsang took close to 30-seconds before showing {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and making the fold.

Rob Yong: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Artur Martirosian: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Vogelsang was kicking himself after seeing the hands and when the board ran out {k-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, the eights for Martirosian held up to eliminate Yong on the final table bubble.
