Tang Versus Tang Round Four

Level 26 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Devan Tang opened to 800,000 on the button and Danny Tang called in the big blind with {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was checked by Tang, who then very reluctantly called a bet worth 400,000 by his namesake.

The {10-Clubs} followed on the turn and Tang checked to face a bet worth 1,000,000, which had his tiny remaining stack covered. Two time banks later, Tang opted to fold and wait for a better spot.

Ewe Doubles Through Tang to Take the Lead

Level 26 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Eng Soon Ewe
Eng Soon Ewe

Danny Tang made it 800,000 to go from under the gun and Eng Soon Ewe simply shipped it in for 10,650,000 on the button. Tang gave it some thought and then called with the superior stack.

Eng Soon Ewe: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Danny Tang: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop gave Tang all hearts in the deck on top of his two overcards. However, the {8-Spades} turn and {7-Clubs} river ensured that Ewe dodged them all and doubled into the lead.

Level 25 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Ewe Eng Soon simply pushed all-in for 6,100,000 from under the gun and Devan Tang did so for 6,500,000 from the next seat as all other players folded.

Eng Ewe Soon: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Devan Tang: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board left Tang with literal fumes.

Tzer Chiuan Lim Eliminated in 5th Place (VND 1,516,000,000 / $62,029)

In a min-raised pot that started with a button raise by Devan Tang and his {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Tzer Chiuan Lim had just called in the small blind with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and that invited Hamish Crawshaw out of the big blind with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop was checked and the {8-Diamonds} followed on the turn. Lim now bet 800,000 and Crawshaw raised to 2,000,000 to then call the shove by Lim for 3,100,000 total.

Lim needed help with his overpair and found none on the {k-Hearts} river to become the fifth place finisher, taking home 1,516,000,000 for the efforts.

Ewe Takes Two Hits

Level 25 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Devan Tang

Ewe Soon Eng raised to 600,000 with 9,500,000 behind, holding the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} on the button. Chip leader Hamish Crawshaw pushed for 14 million with the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Eng bowed down to the aggression.

Ewe then raised to 600,000 with the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Devan Tang came along with {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} in the blind battle. The {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop was bet by Ewe for 400,000 and Tang called, then improved on the {9-Hearts} turn. Ewe bet 600,000 and Tang stuck around, again.

The {6-Clubs} river saw Ewe with a bet worth 1,200,000 and Tang had just 2,700,000 behind. A reluctant call by Tang followed and he pulled ahead of Ewe, who became the second-shortest stack.

Hamish Crawshaw

Hamish Crawshaw made it 600,000 to go on the button with the {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. He was called by Eng Soon Ewe in the big blind, who flopped top pair with the {q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} on {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Ewe's bet worth 400,000 resulted in a call and the {9-Clubs} followed on the turn.

Ewe now checked and Crawshaw bet 2,500,000 with his straight and flush redraw. One time bank was invested by Ewe, who then sent the cards into the muck.
