Who Will Be Crowned the PKC HK$80,000 High Roller Champion Tonight?

PKC High Roller Trophy
PKC High Roller Trophy

Welcome back to Day 2 of the 2018 Poker King Cup Macau HK$80,000 High Roller where at least 36 players will be taking their seats at 2 PM local time here in the amazing Venetian Macau Resort & Hotel. As the registration period is still open for another two hours, more entries are expected to be added to the 54 entries Day 1 attracted yesterday.

Duan Chao took the top spot in the chip counts last night when he bagged 181,500 in chips. Trailing behind him in second and third place are Ming Qin Liu (160,300) and Xiaqing Ji (137,600). Chao and Ji have actually been drawn onto the same table for today which also includes Phachara Wongwichit, Hoaran Liu, Quan Zhou, Kok Soon Tay, and recent WSOP bracelet winner Preston Lee.

Liu also has a tough table as his table includes the defending champion Chung Yuan Yu, Tony Cheng, Bixin Gao, Spanish poker star Sergio Aido, Aaron Lim, and Kuisong Wu. Last year’s runner-up Phanlert Sukonthachartnant has one of the shortest stacks of the day but will be looking to run that up. His fellow Thai player, Wongwichit is in a similar situation so he’s got some work to do too.

With most of the field hailing from Asia, there are some more European players in the mix besides Aido. The United Kingdom is represented by three players which are William Fasano, Dennis Rubba, and Mark Hammond. All three are sporting a below average stack though, so they will all be striving to build those up.

Play commences on Level 10 with a small blind of 800, big blind of 1,600 and running ante of 200. The late registration and reentry period will remain open until the start of Level 13 which should be around 4:10 PM local time. Levels will once again last 40 minutes each and a 10-minute break should take place after every 3 levels. There is no dinner break scheduled but could be planned in at the tournament director’s discretion.

Follow all the live updates right here as the PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the action from the first card off the deck until the final pot has been awarded to the PKC High Roller Champion!
