Wang Gets One Through, Yang Recovers, Sun Short, Lin Doubles

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

It is unclear how he did it as we were watching the other table, but Xiao Tian Yang has spun his 60,000 up to 480,000, and while this still puts him under average (with the average stack coming in at 915,000) it has given the Chinese player some more breathing room.

The means it was Ke Wang who found himself on the short stack, moving all-in from middle position for 190,000 but found no customers, flashing the table {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} as he raked in the blinds and antes.

The shortest stack belongs to Jie Sun, who has dropped down to 90,000 so will need to get something going soon if he wants to survive.

One player who is doing just that is Shi Qiang Lin, who caught a spot of good fortune to double up through tablemate Cang Sheng Ni. Lin moved all-in for 170,000 pre-flop from early position with {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was beaten into the pot by Ni, who had woken up with {a-}{a-}.

While it looked as though Lin's days were numbered, the {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout was a kind one, giving Lin the flush to stack up to around 400,000, while Ni dropped down to 1.35 million.

Yang and Sun Get Short

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

It's getting close to crunch time for Jie Sun and Xiao Tian Yang, with both players circling the drain. Sun has been short for some time now and dropped some chips to Jun Fang to fall a little further.

Fang could see Sun was getting short and suspiciously limped from middle position, with Sun checking from the big blind with around 250,000 or so behind. The action went check, check on the {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, with Sun checking again on the {4-Clubs} turn.

Fang made a delayed continuation bet on the turn for 10,000, Sun check-raised to 105,000 but folded immediately after Fang shoved.

Over on the other table, Xiao Tian Yang and Wei Ran Pu got all the chips in pre-flop with Yang moving in from the small blind over the top of a Pu opening raise. Unfortunately for Yang, Pu actually had a hand and made a quick call.

Xiao Tian Yang: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Wei Ran Pu: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

While Yang had a pair, so did Pu, and he held the best pair possible with pocket aces. The {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} runout provided Yang no help and he dropped to 60,000, while Pu stacked up to 1.1 million.

Tse Falls to Ni

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Lai Heng Tse is out, bringing the field down to 18 and play has paused for a redraw.

Tse got his last 200,000 in pre-flop with pocket fives and was looked up by Cang Sheng Ni with {k-}{q-}, with the Chinese player pairing his king to bring's Tse's tournament to a close. Tse headed for the rail, while Ni stacked up to 1.5 million.

Lim is an Empty Seat

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

It is unclear exactly what happened, but at some time in the last ten-minutes since play resumed, Singapore's Richard Lim took a hit.

While there are still chips in his seat, which is now empty, it is only 9,000 and Lim is nowhere to be seen. We can only assume the Singaporean player thought that he was covered and headed for the exit without realising he still had a chip and a chair, though with the ante coming in at 5,000, it won't be for long.

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

The 20 remaining Main Event players are on a 15-minute break while the yellow 1k chips are colored up and removed from play.

With the elimination of Lin Zhe Chen, Li Teng holds a commanding lead over the rest of the field, with China's Qi Cheng Du sitting in second place with a stack of just over 1.7 million. Jeho Lee rounds out the top three with 1.65 million.

Yu Shoots Down Chen, Takes Lead

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Lin Zhe Chen's Main Event looked to be ticking over nicely, with the Chinese player sitting on over a million in chips, but a brutal cooler against tablemate Li Yu has brought her tournament to a close and shot Yu to the top of the counts.

We arrived as stacks were being counted down with the community cards spread {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}. According to the table, all the chips went in on the turn, which was a bad one for Chen's {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} as Yu was holding {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

The other bad news was that Yu had Chen covered, so the last woman standing is no more. Chen headed for the rail while Yu stacked up to 2.7 million.
