Double for Erquiaga

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The Philippines' David Erquiaga is the short-stack and moved all-in two hands in a row. The first resulted in an anti-climatic chop as both Erquiaga and big blind Wai King Cheung held ace-three, and while Erquiaga's was suited it made no difference and Erquiaga made 20,000 on the hand by chopping the blinds and ante with Cheung.

On the next hand, Erquiaga moved all-in preflop once more, this time for 95,000 and Ling He looking him up from the big blind.

Ling He: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
David Erquiaga: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

While He had the lead preflop, Erquiaga edged in front postflop with the board running out {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give the Filipino two pair and a double up.

Three in a Row for Fa

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Wai King Chung made it 65,000 to go from the hijack and Chou Chien Fa called on the button to take play heads-up.

We missed the betting amounts on the flop, which came {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, but there was some, with Cheung checking it over to Fa, who bet and was called. The {8-Hearts} turn saw the same check, bet, call pattern to swell the pot to 910,000 and the {k-Clubs} river saw Cheung check and Fa bet 350,000 which was enough to win the hand.

Fa won the next two pots also, though these were both taken down with pre-flop raises from the cutoff and hijack respectively.

Lindop Doubles Through Tsai

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Now he has chips, Yu You Ci Tsai is adopting the role of table sheriff, and when ALex Lindop moved all-in from early position for 950,000, Tsai made a quick call and the two players tabled their hands.

Yu You Ci Tsai: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Alex Lindop: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Lindop had Tsai crushed but was the man at-risk. The poker gods were feeling magnanimous and the best hand held on the {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} runout and Lindop doubled, while Tsai dropped out of pole position.

Erquiaga Tests He

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

After a couple of raise-fold hands, a sizable pot played out between Ling He and David Erquiaga that saw the two switch places in the counts and leave Erquiaga as the short-stack.

It was Erquiaga the man driving the action with a 75,000 open from the hijack, with He the only caller in the big blind. The {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop saw He seize the initiative with a lead for 60,000 and Erquiaga spent quite some time mulling over his options before deciding to call.

The {3-Spades} turn brought another bet from He, this one for 125,000, leaving himself roughly 430,000 or so behind. After another lengthy visit to the think tank, the Filipino player called once more and the {q-Spades} river double paired the board and completed a possible spade flush.

He did not seem thrilled about the pair up, tank-checking to Erquiaga, who put the Chinese player to the test with a bet of 250,000 - over half of He's remaining chips. He really thought long and hard about it before deciding to roll the dice and making the call.

Erquiaga turned over {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and seemed surprised when He rolled over {6-Spades}{7-Spades} for the flush to claim the pot.

Jae Wook Shin Eliminated in 8th Place (TWD 218,800/$6,980)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The first hand back after the break saw Lee Kuan Wee raise to 75,000 from middle position and take the blinds and ante. The second hand however, saw more fireworks and Jae Wook Shin and Yu You Ci Tsai clashed again, with Shin coming off second best once more, hitting the rail in 8th place.

Shin moved all-in for 450,000 from middle position, and action folded around to small blind Tsai, who made the call to put the South Korean player at risk and the cards were turned over.

Yu You Ci Tsai: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Jae Wook Shin: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

It was a coin flip to decide Shin's fate, and while the {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} flop was a good one for his mid-sized pair, Tsai binked the {a-Hearts} turn to take the lead. The {7-Clubs} river sealed the deal and Shin departed in 8th place for a TWD 218,800 ($6,980) payday, while Tsai extended his lead to 2.75 million.

Tsai Bests Shin to Edge Ahead

The action is beginning to come to the boil, with a big hand playing out not long after Lee's elimination that saw Yu You Ci Tsai edge into the chip lead after winning a sizeable pot from Korea's Jae Wook Shin.

Wai King Cheung made it 50,000 to go from under-the-gun, with both Tsai, David Erquiaga and Shin (big blind) making the call pre-flop.

Action checked around to Tsai on the {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and he fired for 100,000, with Shin check-raising to 300,000 from the big blind.Tsai took quite some time in the tank, glancing at the tournament clock numerous times before moving all-in for around ~900,000 or so and Shin made a quick call.

Jae Wook Shin: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Yu You Ci Tsai: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Shin had bottom pair and the nut flush draw and Tsai had top pair, managing to fade all the South Korean's outs on the {6-Diamonds} turn and {9-Diamonds} river to win a massive pot, climbing slightly ahead of former frontrunner Cheung in the counts with Shin now the short-stack.

There was a sudden burst of action that saw the first casualty of the final table, with Lee Kuan Wee opening the action from middle position, Kuang Hung Lee moving all-in from the big blind, with Wee calling immediately.

Kuang Hung Lee: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Lee Kuan Wee: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

While he had found pocket jacks with which to make a stand, Lee was in bad shape against the best hand in poker, and stayed behind the whole way when the board ran out {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Lee departed in ninth for a TWD 164,000 ($5,230) payday while Wee stacked up to roughly 930,000.
