Brian Rast vs. Tom Marchese

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Tom Marchese raised to 7,000 under the gun with the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Brian Rast called out of the small blind with the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Scott Seiver came along from the big with {9-}{6-} and three players took a flop of {3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Two checks saw Marchese continue for 12,000, Rast called with top pair, and Seiver got out of the way.

Both players checked the {7-Hearts} turn, and when the {10-Spades} completed the board on the river, Rast led out for 28,000 and Marchese wasted little time in releasing his hand.

Scott Seiver Flops the Joint to Eliminate Cary Katz

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Cary Katz

A short-stacked Cary Katz moved all in for his last 27,000 from the cutoff and Scott Seiver isolated by three-betting all in from the small blind.

Katz: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Seiver: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Katz was looking for some help, but instead he was left drawing dead after the flop came down {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} to give Seiver a full house. The {3-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river were just formalities before Seiver was pushed the pot.

"Just wasn't a good day," Katz told Maria Ho in his post-elimination interview. "When players are this aggressive, you've got to hit some hands."

Katz added: "I think the Poker Masters has been an amazing success."

Davies Sees a Flop and Wins

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 3,000 ante

Rainer Kempe raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and was called by Seth Davies on the button. Jake Schindler was in the big blind and reraised to 42,000. Kempe has been playing on the short stack for quite awhile and with just 70,000 left in front of him, he needed to decide if he wanted to play for all of his chips. After using a time extension, he elected to fold.

Davies, on the other hand, wanted to see a flop and called. The dealer fanned the flop of {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Schindler checked to Davies who bet 45,000. Schindler instantly mucked his cards and Davies earned himself the pot.
