Time for Event #1 of the 2018 Poker Masters; Who Will Win the Purple Jacket?

Welcome to the ARIA Resort & Casino, and the 2018 Poker Masters for Event 1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

The inaugural Poker Masters last year saw five events on the schedule that were all strictly No-Limit Hold'em. However, for this year, there will be seven prestigious events on the schedule, along with some non Hold'em variations. Event #3 will be a $25,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha event, while Event #4 will be a $10,000 buy-in Short Deck Poker event in an effort to capitalize on this new variation's popularity the recent 12 months.

Germany's Steffen Sontheimer claimed the inaugural Poker Masters Purple Jacket last year after producing an incredible week of results. Sontheimer played all five events, and made the final table at each of them. He reached the TV final table of four of them, collected four cashes, and went on to claim the win in two events to accumulate over $2.7 million in Poker Masters earnings.

Unlike the inaugural running of the Poker Masters where the Purple Jacked was decided using total earnings, the 2018 Poker Masters will use the High Roller of the Year scoring system to award the coveted Poker Masters Purple Jacket. Here is the breakdown of the points:

Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em is a two-day event that will play down to a final table of six players on Day 1. Players will begin with 125,000 in chips and levels will last 30 minutes with a 10-minute break every three levels. Registration is open through the first nine levels (approximately 6:50 p.m.), and players have the option to re-enter twice.
