John Thomson has just been eliminated from Day 1C, after a couple of losses in back to back hands. His final 34,000 chips went in the middle with {6-}{6-} against his opponent who had {a-}{k-}. He was ahead all the way, until the river brought a king.

Seymour Doubles Through Al Hayek

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Marc Seymour
Marc Seymour

On a board showing {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, Wissam Al Hayek went all-in for about 130,000, covering Marc Seymour who had just over 100,000.

Marc Seymour: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Al Hayek: {7-}{7-}

Al Hayek later said he didn't want Seymour to hit an ace, but it wasn't an ace he needed to be afraid of, as Seymour had flopped the straight. The inconsequential river was the {8-Hearts}.

Al Hayek took the loss well and then lost the rest of his chips and he has been eliminated from Day 1C.
