2026 Poker Masters
Jeremy Ausmus and Brandon Wilson exchanged raises prelop from the button and big blind that put around 250,000 in the pot heading to the K♠8♥4♠ flop.
Wilson check-called for 50,000, bringing in the 8♣ turn. Wilson checked, and Ausmus bet 110,000, which left him with around 165,000 behind. Wilson mulled over his options, but resigned from the hand.
Cary Katz and Brandon Wilson limped in from the button and small blind, and then both called after Adrian Mateos made it 28,000 from the big blind. Katz quickly called while Wilson used a time extension.
Mateos continued for 35,000 on the K♦Q♦J♥ flop and took down the pot.
"What a waste of a time extension," bemoaned the chip leader.
Nick Schulman jammed for 67,000 from the cutoff and Joao Simao called from the big blind.
Nick Schulman: 6♠6♦
Joao Simao: A♦7♠
Schulman made a set on the Q♦6♣3♠ flop and sealed the double up on the A♠ turn ahead of the 8♦ river.
Marius Gierse raised to 11,000 and Dan Smith called in the big blind. It checked through to showdown, where Smith's 9♥3♥ was best on the 10♠6♦3♣7♠Q♦ board.
Nicholas Palma raised from the cutoff before Jeremy Ausmus made it 30,000 from the small blind. Palma reshoved for around 100,000 and Ausmus called.
Nicholas Palma: A♠10♣
Jeremy Ausmus: 5♦5♣
Palma failed to connect on the J♦6♠2♦8♥3♠ runout and headed out of the PokerGO Studio.
Daniel Negreanu was looking to go wire-to-wire as the final table chip leader of Event #9: $26,000 NLH, but poker's biggest star had to settle for a runner-up finish in the penultimate event of the 2026 Poker Masters.
The Poker Hall of Famer fell to a new kid on the block as young American pro Nicholas Seward claimed his first PokerGO Tour (PGT) victory for $412,500.
"It feels great," Seward told PokerNews in a winner's interview. "The $25K is a big one, so it was definitely a very rewarding feeling, and it was my first win in here, so it feels really good."
In his third final table appearance of the series, Seward bested a stacked final seven that included high-stakes pals Jesse Lonis and Matthew Wantman and poker villain Sean Perry.
