Dealer Gets Two Shots at a Freeroll
David Coleman, Cary Katz and Brock Wilson agreed to offer a freeroll dealer Clyde Gaskins, who they said they would pay a few thousand if he could correctly guess Coleman's cards.
Gaskins guessed Q♥8♠ as a player limped in and Brandon Wilson raised in the cutoff. Coleman folded from the next seat but held onto his cards as Brock Wilson came along from the small blind, as did the limper.
A continuation bet of 15,000 on a flop of 3♦Q♠4♠ won the pot for Wilson as Coleman pointed out that Gaskins was still live. However, Wilson then turned over A♠3♥.
"I got like half of that," Gaskins said, pointing out that he correctly guessed the suits.
"You're going to freeroll a mechanic one day and get wrecked," Brandon Wilson told Coleman.
The ran the freeroll again the next hand and Brock Wilson added his cards to the mix as Gaskins guessed 7♦4♣ as Coleman raised to 8,000 from the cutoff to bring all folds. Sadly for Gaskins, Coleman and Wilson respectively tabled J♥9♠ and A♦6♦.
"We gave you $13 of equity and it didn't hit. Sorry," said Coleman. "But isn't that better than a $13 tip?"
"It was thrilling, anyway," commented someone at the table.
