Walsh Wamboozled

Lisa Walsh - Eliminated
Lisa Walsh - Eliminated
In early position, Ali Khalil raises to 10,500. The betting passes around to James Frendo in the small blind, and he makes the call. Next is Lisa Walsh, and she squeezes the table, reraising all in for about 40,000 from the big blind. Khalil reraises, serving to isolate himself against the all-in Walsh as Frendo ducks out.

Showdown:
Khalil: {A-Spades} {8-Spades}
Walsh: {6-Hearts} {6-Spades}

The flop didn't pair Khalil, but it didn't miss him entirely either. The {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {K-Spades} added another four outs to his race. The turn was a blank, the {3-Clubs}. Walsh ran into trouble on the river though. The {10-Spades} peeled off, making Kahlil's straight and relinquishing her to the rail. She ships her chips across the felt to Ali Khalil, who has moved up very close to 200,000.

Pavlou Eliminates Allen

The action flop was {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} which saw Stewart Allen and Harris Pavlou commit all of their chips into the middle in a series of raises.

Allen held {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for top pair, top kicker but Pavlou held the rockets with his {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} well in front.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and the river the {10-Clubs}, to end the inspirational aura of Allen and jump Pavlou up to a very healthy 208,000 chips.

Bryan Huang opened with a raise before Emad Tahtouh shoved his last chips over the top. Huang made the call with pocket eights to be racing against Tahtouh's {A-?}{J-?}.

The board bricked out, proving no help for Tahtouh to send him to the rail.

Trung Tran in an earlier event

David Lee came in raising to 12,500, and action passed to Trung Tran. He moved all in for 73,600, and Lee made the call.

Showdown:
Lee: {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Tran: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The board ran down Trung Tran, as the dealer spread out: {5-Hearts} {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} {A-Spades}. The ace on the river spelled the end of his day, while David Lee's timely outdraw earned him a stack of 160,000 chips.

Burchell Gets Away From Jacks

Bill Jordanou during Day 1 action
Bill Jordanou during Day 1 action
In an interesting hand, Bill Jordanou opened with a raise to 12,000 before Ian Burchell popped it up to 40,000. The action folded back to Jordanou, who moved all in for an additional 64,100.

Burchell went into the tank before eventually folding {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} face-up!

An tough fold from Burchell, who falls to 112,000 while Jordanou sits with 125,000.

Lechich Disguises His Hand Nicely

Emad Tahtouh raised to 10,000 from middle position and Tino Lechich made the call. The flop came down {Q-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades} and the fireworks began.

Tahtouh bet 16,000 and Lechich raised all in for 68,000. Tahtouh made the call.

Showdown:
Tahtouh: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Lechich: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}

Behind Lechich's aces, Tahtouh needed some help on the turn or river to win the hand. There was no luck in the box left for Tahtouh when the turn fell the {8-Hearts} and the river the {3-Diamonds}. Lechich scooped the pot and bumped himself to 162,000. Tahtouh was left with only 15,700 chips.

Dalessandri Lets One Go

On a flop of {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} the action checked to Grant Levy, who bet out for 9,000. Ali Khalil folded on the button, Tim Heath called in the small blind before John Dalessandri raised it up to 34,000 from the big blind.

Levy folded, but then Heath bumped it up to 100,000 to go.

Dalessandri sighed and on a dangerous-looking board he folded {7-Spades}{3-Spades} face-up!

Mastorakos Doubles Through

Michael Wehner got it started with a raise to 8,500. Both Jim Mastorakos and Lisa Walsh called, and it was three-handed to the flop.

It showed up: {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {J-Clubs}, and all three players checked.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs} and all the action. Walsh led out with a bet of 18,000 chips, which was enough to get Wehner out. Mastorakos wasn't going anywhere though. He reraised to 45,000, prompting Walsh to move all in. Mastorakos made the call, and it was he who was all in for his last 81,000 chips.

Showdown:
Walsh: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Mastorakos: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

Despite turning top pair, Walsh was left drawing completely dead to her opponent's set of jacks. The river was an unimportant {6-Spades}, and Lisa Walsh sent a double-up over to Jim Mastorakos. He is up to 225,000, while she has fallen to just 28,000.

Carwash Flushes Patison

George Cotaidis
George Cotaidis
Lance Patison opened the action to 10,000 from early position before George Cotaidis bumped it up to 45,000 to go. Patison moved all in and Cotaidis snap-called.

Showdown:
Patison: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Cotaidis: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The flop arrived {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Cotaidis held the only heart to take away some of Patison's outs. The turn was the {8-Spades} and river fell the {4-Hearts} to give Cotaidis a flush to collect the huge pot! "Carwash" George is now up to a massive 328,000 chips as Patison heads for the exit.
