Naalden Doubles Up; Stacks Are Even

Dealer Willi - resolutely refusing to deal the final hand
Dealer Willi - resolutely refusing to deal the final hand
The players limp/checked their way to the {6-Hearts} {A-Spades} {4-Spades} flop, which Runnar Lindepuu checked. Marc Naalden bet, Lindepuu called, and they continued.

Turn: {5-Hearts}

Again, Lindepuu checked. Now Naalden bet 105,000, and very quietly Lindepuu raised all in. Naalden called, and was this the last hand of the night?

No.

Lindepuu: {4-Hearts} {5-Spades} for two pair.
Naalden: {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a better two pair.

River: {J-Clubs}

Naalden doubles up to around a million, and the stacks are more or less even once more. We could be here awhile.

Big Pot for Lindepuu

Marc Naalden made it 75,000 from the button and Runnar Lindepuu called. Flop time.

Flop: {7-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}

Checking for Lindepuu, and betting 100,000 for Naalden. Call.

Turn: {Q-Hearts}

Checking all round.

River: Lindepuu now bet out 200,000 -- and Naalden decided he didn't like his hand that much after all, and folded.

Lindepuu is now back to a commanding chip lead on 1.2 million.

Naalden Steaming Ahead

Someone's going to win this soon...
Someone's going to win this soon...
Marc Naalden made it 75,000 form the button and Runnar Lindepuu called, but folded instantly when Naalden bet 150,000 on the {4-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {3-Spades} flop.

-----

Now it was Lindepuu's turn to make it 75,000 from the button and Naalden's turn to call; they saw the {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop. Naalden bet 105,000 and Lindepuu called, but they proceeded to warily check down the {6-Diamonds} turn and {3-Diamonds} river. Amazingly, Naalden's {6-Hearts} {7-Spades} was good enough to take it down and Lindepuu just mucked.

Runnar Lindepuu Eliminated in Second Place (€29,940)

It took awhile, but after much back and forth action, we finally found our winner.

With Marc Naalden making a standard raise of 75,000 preflop, Runnar Lindepuu took one look at his cards and announced, "All in."

"Call," came the immediate response, much to the interest of the Dutch contingent who swamped the table, their mouths salivating over the possibility of a Dutch winner.

And as Naalden revealed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} to Lindepuu's {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, there were few excited fist pumps, the majority sensing victory was nigh.

Indeed, it was, and as the board came {4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, the crowd erupted in cheers for a fellow countryman, and a triumphant Naalden high-fived his nearest railer.

Lindepuu, meanwhile, a fine competitor and highly deserving of his runner-up spot, was reflective in defeat, commenting, "Oh well, second's still good." Well, he's right, second is still good, and good enough for a mighty €29,940.
