Put the Breukelens On

John Duthie raised to 550 under the gun, but he received absolutely no respect and got called in four spots to see an {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} flop. All five players checked. Come the {10-Hearts} turn, it checked around to Wolfgang Van Breukelen in position, who thoughtfully bet 1,400. Everyone passed and he took the pot.

Jokubaitis Bites the Dust

We are down to just one Guoga family member, as Tony G's brother Gintaras Jokubaitis is busto -- this evidenced by him leaving his table, no chips in front of his seat, and wandering over to Tony G to tell him all about it.

Saab Driven Off

Saab's wheels fell off
Saab's wheels fell off
In a raised pot, Tony G, David Saab and Kenny Hallaert saw a {9-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {7-Spades} flop. G checked it to Saab, who put in a "very, very small bet" of 5,000. Hallaert called and G folded.

Come the {A-Spades} turn Saab moved all in, Hallaert called, and they were on their backs.

Saab: {J-Spades} {10-Spades}
Hallaert: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

River: {7-Hearts}

Thus we lose a jovial David Saab, who announced that he needed a smoke and left the tournament area.

Bad Hand for Golser

Markus Golser
Markus Golser
Suffering from a painful skiing injury, Markus Golser has been dealt more bad hands than most, and his latest encounter was possibly another to add to the list.

I joined the action with the board reading {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, Golser betting out 800 and his opponent making the call. On the {A-Hearts} river, the Austrian led out for 3,000, but shook his head and sniggered frustratedly as his foe pushed all in for around 8,000. It didn't take long for Golser to throw his hand into the muck.

As a result of that slip-up, Golser has dropped to just shy of 7,000.

He's a Kollmann

Erich Kollmann
Erich Kollmann
Sponsored pro Erich Kollmann is starting to feel the wind in his sails. He's clmbed up to 34,000 and is closing in on the chip leaders. He's currently seated next to Tony G who is peering at his stack and licking his lips.

Vos Has a Flush

The board read {3-Spades} {7-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and in the big blind Mark Vos bet 1,500. Bernhard Egger, however, raised to 3,300 with 6,000 behind, putting Mr Vos to a decision.

"No pocket pair?" established Vos. "Do you have a king-high flush? Queen-high flush? Jack-high flush? Ten-high flush?"

He passed.

"I had a flush."

Granberg Dwells, Haas Doesn't Mind

Jeffrey Haas bet 2,400 into a 4,000 pot on the turn of a {10-Clubs} {A-Spades} {5-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} board, eliciting an epic dwell from Christoffer Granberg. Haas patiently waited for Granberg to wrestle with his call-fold-call-fold demons, an expression of perfect serenity on his face. Eventually Granberg folded, and Haas considerately showed him {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}.
