Good Göschl

Michael Pesek
Michael Pesek
Michael Pesek is now out courtesy of Otto Göschl. Pesek (button) found himself coin-flipping with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} versus Göschl's {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} in the big blind, a flip that ultimately favored the latter as it came {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to send the youngster home.

Göschl is now up to 33,000, so a crucial victory for him.

So Long, Szollosy

Grey is the new black

Also out -- the awesomely-barnetted Gabor Szollosy, in circumstances unknown.

The picture doesn't do the 'do justice, incidentally -- it goes all the way down his back in a spectacular ponytail.

Martin Was the Leader All the Way

I spotted the very tail end of a clash between Martin Führer and Erich Kollmann. It was a big pot worth around the 55,000 mark, but it looked like it might have been a battle of the blinds confrontation with Kollmann's {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} in the big in need of assistance against Führer's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

I don't know when the chips went in, but Kollmann's hand didn't improve on the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} board and the pot went to his neighbor.

Kollmann is down to circa 20,000 as a result.

Woes for Willemoes

Anders Willemoes Larsen
Anders Willemoes Larsen
Anders Willemoes Larsen raised to 2,200 from UTG, only for (almost) namesake Allan Laursen to push all in from the big blind. Larsen made the call with {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}, but grimaced upon being met by {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. No change on the {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} board and a 20-25,000 pot went to the man with just two names.

It wasn't all bad for Larsen, though, as he was moved to another table, thus evading the wrath of the big blind. A small consolation, but a consolation nonetheless.
