The Chips Go Straight to Larsen

On an {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop Allan Larsen bet 700 and Istvan Pap made the call. After both players had cautiously checked the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Pap came out firing on the {8-Clubs} river, to the tune of 1,000.

A quick glance at his opponent, then at his chips, and Larsen reached out for a raise, a total of 2,375. He then rest his hand over his mouth and wore an expression that I can only desrcribe as someone with a bad hangover trying desperately not to vomit.

With his opponent remaining as still as water, Pap hesitated before finally making the call and tabling {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. It wasn't good enough, though, as Larsen had rivered a straight with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} to lap up the pot.

Kings for Svensson

Five or six players limped in around the table, until Ramazanali Abbassi decided to make it 1,200 from the big blind. Then, most unexpectedly, Kristian Svensson, who'd limped in under the gun, announced that he was all in for around 12,000. The other limpers folded faster than they'll be running for the buffet come the break, and then back around to Abbassi who pulled a face and dwelled up briefly before passing. Svensson showed him {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} for his trouble.

Overdijk and Out

Our second casualty of the day is Peter Overdijk, who yesterday final tabled the €300 PLO event. The exact details of the hand are sketchy, but it looks as though his pocket kings were cracked by Mikael Johansson holding something which wasn't as good preflop.

Table 1 Chip Counts

Seat 1: Daniel Perfeito -- 18,150
Seat 2: Johan Percivall -- 20,500
Seat 3: Kim Kristiansen -- 13,375
Seat 4: Franciscus Deckers -- 11,400
Seat 5: Fabian Kliche -- 11,950
Seat 6: Vladislav Bakalov -- 14,525
Seat 7: Vincent Moscati -- 11,425
Seat 8: Markus Lehmann -- 14,650
Seat 9: Alex Varga -- 19,500

Duthed Up

Kristian Svensson
Kristian Svensson
I just managed to grab the end of a John Duthie hand, the EPT founder check-calling a bet of 3,500 from Kristian Svensson on the river of a {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} board.

A graceful tap of the table from Svensson signaled that Duthie's {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} was good, and the Team PokerStars pro took the pot to jump up to the 20,000 mark.

Duthie Dips

John Duthie bet out 1,100 on the river of an {A-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs} board, but laid it down with a murmured, "Nice hand," to a 2,600 raise from Alexander Volik.

Nevertheless Duthie remains on around 18,000

Gandrup Down to Half His Stack

Rasmus Gandrup is down to around 7,500 after getting involved with Gerard Deckers.

With 6,000 in the pot by the turn of the {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {5-Hearts} board, Deckers bet out 3,000 from the small blind position, leaving Gandrup with a tough decision to make. He took his time over it, and eventually, shaking his head, decided to fold.

Moscati Busts

Vincent Moscati is out after getting his chips in on the river of a {10-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} board; his opponent Alex Varga flipped {5-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} for a flush, and banging his fist on the table Moscati mucked and left.
